Summary: I have both a pc and a ps3 plugged into this monitor and the quality is far more detailed than my 34 inch lcd Vizio display. I actually prefer playing games on this. It comes with two hdmi slots. I have had it for four years and still find it comparable to the monitors that are out now and my other computing device is a mac book pro retina. It's a steal.
Summary: I purchased this monitor 2 weeks ago and am blown away by the performance. At first I was a little concered that 27" might be too big for a desktop system. What was I thinking?! Once you start using it, it's hard to go back to a smaller screen. Here's some highlights: Pros: + Great color and resolution.
Summary: an 27 inch HD LCD at $175 (Great Deal) it works just great and having only the 2 HDMI inputs and one VGA is really nice. I guess it wouldn't work for everyone but I dont buy stuff any more if it doesn't have HDMI. I also really like the remote. It also has nice built in speakers. I dont think there is anything i really dont like about it as of yet but if I were making a wish list I would want higher resolution (but hey when does anyone want lower res?
Summary: Plugged it in and it works like a charm. I don't know much about refresh rates and contrast ratios and all that, but as a monitor that I use for both gaming and work, it's great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed one for another computer.
Summary: My goodness, where to start! When I arrived home to find this HUGE box I am already star struck, HUGE BOX. I mean I expected it was gonna be larger than most LCD's, but I didn't expect it to be this large! After removing it from the box, I was extremely impressed with the way Asus packs an LCD! These guys are such pros and know how to pack to protect, and there was enough stick adhesive to make sure everything was glowing and glossy when removed.
Summary: Nice size screen for a comuter monitor. 1080p looks great with blueray, and gaming systems as well as my PC. Lots of cool options and modes to choose from. The remote is cheap and not so user friendly but with auto off and on features, i dont need it. It has SPEAKERS! pretty cool idea. I used them for a game and it was suprisingly loud, but in no way does it compare to a surround sound. Dont think you will set your PC at high resolution and sit 10 feet away.
Summary: Easy setup. Very bright and significant volume. (as good as it can get for a tv mounted speaker) I primarily used for videos/movies, and seems to be reasonably exceptional. Havent tried it with games though!
Summary: +'s - Price Point, Big Display, Remote, Remote control storage slot in monitor, Speakers. I spend so much time on my pc that I figured I owed it to my eyes to have the largest reasonable display. I read other reviews. I have an ATI 4290 on-board graphics using the ATI catalyst software. Out of the box I got my VGA connection to work with out an issue. I am not a huge sound person so I decided to save desk space and use the built-in speakers and volume on the monitor.
Summary: Overall a great monitor for the price. If you want to have a good monitor and not pay a lot you will be happy with the ASUS. Now I want to go eat a fish taco. Notes: Had to set the up the monitor to get the look I wanted. Not noted in the manual: Had to set some video card settings to get it to go full screen I have no idea why there are flowers on the bottom of the monitor. In the low light of the edit bay they don't look like flowers.
Summary: I bought this a few weeks ago and so far I really like this monitor. The picture is sharp, the colors seem true, and in general it's a very high quality product. I don't like the placement of the control buttons on the top because it means I have to stand up from my desk, but the inclusion of a remote makes that almost a non-issue.
