Summary: I've used this monitor for quite awhile, and the resolution and electronics are fine. The stand is flimsy and can tip easily. If the monitor falls, the case breaks easily. Still works, but next time I'd go for a monitor with a more stable stand.
If you try one MS238H, you just might buy a 2nd, 3rd or 4th for useful fun

Summary: I suppose the ultimate "rating" is that this ASUS MS238H 23" LED LCD is my second. When I found the "New Open Box" posting for this one, I quickly made an offer. Besides my satisfaction with my first ASUS, I wanted an identical match for a dual monitor desktop. While two matching monitors are not a requisite, it is better if size, aspect ratio, response times, and color temps all match. Some have critized the ultra-thin ASUS for its unconventional "ring" stand design.
Summary: This was, probably, my best purchase of the year. I'm not a video editing pro, a pro would probably find something not exactly super about this LED monitor. But as for me - it's the ultimate pc monitor. And it's about twice less expensive, than competitors within this screen size and quality. The sound does not go via hdmi by itself, it takes some drivers, but I could not care less, since I'm totally satisfied with my external sound system.
Summary: Although Amazon doesn't seem to be carrying this monitor anymore at the moment I figure I might as well put in my review. I have owned this monitor for a year and a half now and am using this monitor as a regular desktop monitor and it sits on my black work desk very nicely due to its sleeker design with the ring stand. Like most reviewers have stated, the image and colors for this monitor are superb and continue to be crisp even now.
Summary: I bought this originally as a foundational piece of a desktop which took another two years to emerge, so I used it for a laptop display instead. The color reproduction is great and plenty bright with an amazing contrast ratio. The base of it is a little funky with its ring stand and I lived in fear for a few month about coming out to find it knocked over and broken by a cat, but it's stable and sets it at a decent slightly-eyes down angle which works well for my usual...
Summary: My search for a monitor in late Nov. of 2010 was primarily for the new gaming pc i was building. Required some small adjustments to the monitor to set it just right for my pc. Still love this vibrant beautiful monitor after having it for about 10 months. Nice large widescreen that doesn't take up too much real estate on my small desk thanks to its slim design. My first and only problem with it thus so far was earlier into the month of Oct.
