Good for USB3.0 Windows machines;

SM, B&H Photo
1 June 2015
  • Excerpt: Setup was easy, but it looks like Mac support was an afterthought. The Mac version of the DisplayLink driver doesn't allow you to change any display settings (no control of brightness, resolution, autorotate, etc).
  • Pros: Brightness, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: 17" Laptop Sized Packout, Case As A Stand, Mac Drivers, Mac Drivers Suck

  • Summary: This product and other DisplayLinks that I have used will not work when going through a USB3 HUB (even if the HUB is powered). I have seen it work for 10-20 minutes but then always die.

troubleshooting for Windows 7

breakfast with excalibur, Amazon
19 May 2015
  • Summary: I was just ready had to give up on this monitor - this is a bit of troubleshooting for Windows 7 (64 bit, in case it matters). I would rate it a 5, except for the remarkably mediocre support when I called into ASUS.

True Review, Amazon

  • Summary: Believe it or not, bigger is better. I am the ONLY person I see on any post that bought this monitor and AOC E1649FWU 16" USB-Powered Portable LED Monitor. I was very jealous of the thinness of this monitor.

Gets the job done -- but there is room to improve.

viagap, Amazon
6 May 2015
  • Summary: I move from office to office a lot and carry this LCD in my laptop bag. Its very light and convenient to use when I find a random desk to sit at for a few hours. Great for email and especially with spreadsheets. I really like the fact that it doesn't need external power and runs on USB.

Pretty impressive

Morty, B&H Photo
5 May 2015
  • Excerpt: The weight, performance and style are great. The stand needs improvement. I worry that long term it may not hold up. I purchased a tablet stand and don't use it.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Fast, Lightweight, Powerful
  • Cons: Stand

but I wish they had a hard shell case to better protect the monitor screen

Cynthia Smith, Amazon
1 May 2015
  • Summary: For as hard as these are to get, I guess I expected more. The case is not as protective as the information implies. I'm afraid to carry it around, which sort of defeats the portability. It is really plug and play, and a decently long cord was provided. I believe I will invest in a different stand.

GOOD BUT NOT QUITE

cebepe, Amazon
14 April 2015
  • Summary: I tried it but returned it in favor of the AOC 17-inch. The screen resolution is excellent but the screen itself is not bright, the stand is also the cover but is not firm, and the USB sticks out the side.

An interesting monitor, but bloody annoying to accommodate it.

Thomas Grillo "Thomas Grillo", Amazon
13 March 2015
  • Summary: It's bloody annoying to try to find a 1080 monitor in this size. In fact, this was the only one I found, so far. I discovered you can only use a USB 3.0 port to drive this monitor.

Only USB powered LCD at 1080p - but it's far from perfect

MTBDET, Amazon
10 March 2015
  • Summary: It's pretty much the only 1920x1080p USB powered LCD out there. I frequently travel locally during the day for work, and am stuck with a crummy 1366x768 laptop screen issued by my job, so this will have to suffice for a larger Windows desktop space.
