Summary: I was recently looking for a budget IPS panel monitor for my secondary PC. Ever since having my first IPS display, I've been unable to stand most TN panels that are marketed towards gamers. I eventually settled on this monitor, my first AOC purchase, because it was the cheapest I could find with HDMI audo pass-through support. So my first impression out of the box is that build quality could be better. The plastic back cover feels flimsy and loose.
Summary: Had these for over a year and they haven't skipped a beat. I chose them for Nvidia Surround. I have used many monitors from AOC, ASUS, Sony, Samsung, HP and Acer and for the price, these just can't be beat.
Pros: Cheap. Thin bezels. IPS panel.
Cons: Not a very stable stand which is non height adjustable. Only DVI and VGA, no HDMI
Summary: For the money, these can't be beat, especially if you are going triple monitor.
Pros: I purchased three of these a year ago to run an Nvidia Surround set up. They are plenty fast and have a great picture. Its actually better than my 24-27" Samsungs and Asus LCDs. Thin bezels and overall construction. No dead pixels. I am preparing to buy a forth now. Price is very good.
Cons: DVI/VGA only. Flimsy stands. Small buttons are on back of monitor.
Excerpt: I purchased this monitor to edit photos in Adobe Lightroom. The colors are brilliant and with the IPS technology(In-Plane-Switching, I don't make the mistake of editing my photos wrong because my monitor was left slightly tilted by another family memeber...which I've done!UGH It's plenty large enough to see the whole photo clearly. The only negative is that the adjusting buttons are in the back, but this allows for almost all screen in the front...the bezel is very thin.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Large, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Summary: It's a great monitor for what it does. In fact, I'd say this monitor gives you the most bang-for-your-buck, at least concerning 1080-1440p ones. The only reason I'm rating it four stars is because the brightness always seems a bit low for some reason. It could just be me, but I had to crank the brightness to the max setting. Still great though!
Excerpt: This is a great monitor for the price! The build quality fits the budget but it definitely looks nicer than it feels. I chose this one over alternatives because it's matte display keeps glare down.
