Summary: This has worked great as my second monitor for my laptop. I'm mobile all the time and have a nice big metal briefcase that holds both my laptop and this large monitor. It does take up two USB ports, and this gets in the way sometimes of the use of an external mouse of your ports are on the side of your laptop. I've installed a DisplayLink driver and now this unit works and looks as well as my 17" laptop screen. I've even gamed on it will little noticeable issues.
AOC E2251FWU 22 - Inch Widescreen USB LED Monitor - Black
6 December 2014
Summary: AOC E2251FWU 22 - Inch Widescreen USB LED Monitor - Black I purchased this item December 27, 2012. It works great on my toshiba laptop (running windows XP) and HP laptop (running windows 7). Sometimes, I can get it to work using only one USB, but sometimes I need to use two. Only issue I had is its responsiveness is little bit slow especially during watch videos... either that or maybe my toshiba laptop is slow (it only has 3GB RAM with no video memory) ...
Summary: I like it a lot, it's super easy to move around (had to buy a special carrier, though). I use it mainly with After Effects, so even though the interface is usb it still runs pretty fast, I leave my comp windows in this monitor and the timeline on my laptop, I haven;t noticed any lag yet.

Summary: When I first received this item, I was absolutely furious with AOC. I attempted to hook it up to a machine running Ubuntu 12.04 (Hoping to any and all deities that it would work right off the bat - stupid hope knowing Linux) and, of course, it didn't work. The screen would just flash repeatedly. After reading ever tutorial on the web about how to get it to work, I FINALLY got somewhere: I could see my desktop briefly in between the flashes of the monitor.
Summary: The items is exactly what I wanted. It's USB powered, so I can have 3 monitors hooked to my laptop (VGA, HDMI, USB) and it looks great when being used for documents and basic web browsing. The only improvement I would like to see for it is alternate mounting hardware availability. You are required to use it as a desktop monitor (as advertised), you can't put it into an array or turn it for portrait viewing (like the 16" USB monitor AOC offers). Well worth the money.
Summary: These things are great,I ended up buying 3 of the, keep in mind you will probably need a USB hub because this eats up 2 USB ports. Display could be a little brighter and the Mac drivers suck when playing flash videos or certain sites on safari.
Summary: I've been using this screen for only 1 day now and love the functionality of it. If you are a consultant or an auditor that works at client sites this screen a perfect second screen. The resolution is way better than I expected (1920 by 1080) for a usb plug powered screen. If your laptop is not powerful enough, it's possible you may need two USB ports to power this screen (usb cable included), but I'm using one right now and have had no issues in the last 6 hours.
Summary: BEAUTIFUL HD USB monitor with support for window, fedora, mac, and runs like wind. I want 6 of thes.e The only draw back is I don't have many scaled resolutions, and I can't seem to adjust the brightness yet (is that what actualMonitor is for?).
