Summary: This is a great monitor for the price. It has a sharp screen and is very crisp. I have played movies on it and the refresh rate is good. It does occasionally glitch when when I'm playing something with a higher refresh rate. The monitor itself is sleek and thin and easy to transport. I do wish the usb was longer, but it's something I can live with. Overall I'm very satisfied.
Summary: Well, I just complained that it died, but you have to make sure you have the PRIMARY CORD (the long one) plugged into your USB port (not the short / extra cord). I only wish it got a BIT brighter. There's no brightness control. And yes I know the same things have probably been said in reviews numerous times.
Excerpt: Ordered 2 of these monitors and could only use 1 so returned the other. The monitor is for use with a laptop, which was not stated in the description, so the USB cord is very short. Not suitable for desktop computer use.
gotta be honest but so far, this thing is terrible

Summary: EDIT... Obviously i had some major issues initially with this product, however I learned that my RAM was bad and that is what was causing the issues with the choppiness. One thing that remains the same is the issues with Mac and Maverick OSX compatibility. I had to downgrade in order to be able to use this item. Screen is smooth and color is great. Compared to my 13inch MacBook Pro this thing is huge.

Summary: When I first received this item, I was absolutely furious with AOC. I attempted to hook it up to a machine running Ubuntu 12.04 (Hoping to any and all deities that it would work right off the bat - stupid hope knowing Linux) and, of course, it didn't work. The screen would just flash repeatedly. After reading ever tutorial on the web about how to get it to work, I FINALLY got somewhere: I could see my desktop briefly in between the flashes of the monitor.
Summary: The items is exactly what I wanted. It's USB powered, so I can have 3 monitors hooked to my laptop (VGA, HDMI, USB) and it looks great when being used for documents and basic web browsing. The only improvement I would like to see for it is alternate mounting hardware availability. You are required to use it as a desktop monitor (as advertised), you can't put it into an array or turn it for portrait viewing (like the 16" USB monitor AOC offers). Well worth the money.
