Excerpt: Works well with my MacBook Pro Retina-- the displaylink drivers are easy to download and install. The screen then functions just like a second monitor through the USB port. At my office I can use a secondary display through the Thunderbolt port and this Aoc display as a third screen. The colors cannot be adjusted (calibration is not possible) and are not great. It works well as a screen on which to put palettes while using the main screen for actual work.
Excerpt: First, the product arrived on time. That beat out the @ reseller I tried to purchase this monitor from who said that they had shipped when in fact they were out-of-stock. Next, the purchase price was $ less than my previous attempt to purchase this item. My laptop's 3.0 USB drivers had to be updated, but the monitor's install software notified me of the driver issue. So no need to jump through any support hoops.
Excerpt: I've been using this monitor for a few weeks now as a second monitor for my laptop. I mainly use an extended display so I can see multiple applications at once, although the other day when a projector failed during a meeting, I was able to easily convert it into a (small) display for a group to see (sweet!). I love the portability of it and how easy it is to get going.
Summary: Buyer Beware! I gave this product two stars due to its undesired operation. First let me make it clear that this is a vast improvement over the e1649Fwu model and is a good portable usb monitor when it works. However! The monitor has the possibility of starving for power regardless of the length of the cable or the type (usb 2 or 3). I have found the same problem with both my laptop and desktop.
SCREEN IS WAY TOO DARK ON A MAC - AND NO WAY TO FIX IT.

Summary: The screen is so dark on a mac. Just talked to AOC customer service and there is no way to adjust the brightness on a mac. Apparently on a PC you can. Why don't then mention this on the product description that it's not really compatible with mac. So glad I paid extra to have it rushed shipped to me. Now I have to pay to send it back. It is significantly darker than the screen on my display or my laptop.
No adapaters required. Great way to add additional monitors with ease and excellent for travel.....

Summary: I have two of these usb monitors, one first generation, one second generation (this model). I word from home in software application support and one of these is dedicated to Microsoft Outlook and the other for Microsoft Lync. Having a monitor dedicated for internal communications is the way to go, because the instant message windows won't pop up in the front of your work and get in the way.
Summary: Move on if you are thinking about buying this poorly made piece of junk. The problem with it is the cable connector. Why on earth the company thought anyone would want to remove the cable off the back is anyone's guess. It's not like you can hook the screen up any other way. Instead of making the connector permanently attached, it has a very strange connector that if you so much as move the monitor one centimeter, the wire moves, the connector disconnects and the screen...
Summary: This screen works just like I hoped it would. I have a 2012 Macbook Air and have used this screen with the Mavericks and Yosemite OSx updates with no major issues. Occasionally, there is a bit of lag when I have moving images on both screens, and the picture quality is obviously not as good as my mac's screen, but for someone who uses the second screen almost exclusively for text and programming, it does the job.
Summary: I bought this to set up a my work station for when working at home. I was unsure of the quality since it did not seem relatively expensive. I was very surprised and pleased to find it is so portable. As I transitioned from working at home to an off-site office, I've just kept it nicely in my car and bring it to any office space for work.
Summary: I bought this to use with my laptop as a second screen when working. Prior to receiving it, I thought I'd place it next to my laptop and use it in portrait mode. After receiving it, I realized there were a couple of issues with portrait mode: 1. It's very narrow, not very usable in my opinion 2. more importantly, in portrait mode, the screen colors become negative on the left side which makes it unusable in portrait mode.
