Summary: I used this on my Windows 7 work laptop. It installed by itself, worked fine. The screen is very pleasant to view, bright and glossy. I took the monitor to and from work and then on the 10th day, the MicoUSB port became loose and the cable wouldn't stay in, as a result the monitor no longer connects to the computer. AOC saved a few dollars on a cheap port and as a result, this monitor probably won't survive being connected more than 20 times or so.
Excerpt: This product is working great for what I use it for. I bought it to attach to my laptop, be portable and be able to read my text books. It works fantastic for that. But when I choose to put a movie on there, either from online or dvd, the quality is horrible. There are also no modifications to the screen itself, due to the way it attaches by USB.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight
Cons: Inaccurate Colors, Little Detail, Not Sharp Image
Summary: First, the most important part: it DOES NOT include linux drivers. I could not get it to work on Ubuntu 12.04 or Crunchbang "Statler". This sis simply unacceptable, it needs to include these drivers or at least have some documentation on how to get it setup with 3rd party solutions. Second, the USB place ment is horrible- as stated in other reviews. But it isnt unbearable... just a minor inconvenience.
Summary: Good: -After I installed the drivers from the website, I plug it in and my Macbook recognizes it immediately. It works even as a third monitor when the second is plugged into the thunderbolt port. -The kickstand will keep it up and it is really easy to go between portrait and landscape -The entire thing is simple with no buttons and a single USB port Bad: -The whole thing feels cheap. The display is glossy and a little blurry.
Summary: This is a great little monitor that hooks up to your USB port. Works great. Problem is...it's not a good choice for the road warrior. It's very lightweight and seems a bit fragile, but even in a neoprene protective sleeve and a laptop bag, it somehow ended up broken. Of course, this happened while I was outside the US, a week into a trip, and without any chance of being addressed for weeks. Of course, the warranty expired 2 days ago so....
Summary: When I received my monitor, the USB port on the back was slightly damaged. It still works, but I am concerned about what types of issues that it may have in the future. I contacted Amazon's support and I was told to contact the manufacturer. all in all, it should work fine, but the fact that it arrived damaged concerned me.
