Summary: This is my second 22" Acer monitor. I also own an AL2223W, so the decision to buy another Acer (for my fiance) was an easy one. When it comes to cost/performance ratio, this monitor is an exceptional value. Plug-and-play, and if you like, Widows 7 automatically downloads a driver for it. Easy to navigate controls, but I didn't have to make any adjustments other than setting the resolution in CCC after installing O/S.
Summary: I bought this monitor (even though used) because of the price and feel like it was a good buy. Screen picture is very good and overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. The only thing that bugs me are the controls for contrast and brightness. I can't seem to make them work (I downloaded the instruction manual so I hope I know what I'm doing). I probably don't need to adjust them very much as the picture is about perfect but I'd like that option.
Summary: Good product that does what it should at a good price. I own two and wouldn't hesitate to buy a third. Used in recording studio, good contrast and low eye strain after several hours of tracking/mixing.
Summary: Bought this monitor because I had been using an identical one and wanted to do dual screen. The first one had been very satisfactory, and had a good quality picture. Not to mention that the price was right. When I first set it up, I used some old cables I had instead of using the ones that came with the unit. I was getting ghosting on the right side of any dark entity. Was ready to send it back, then thought it might be cables.
Summary: This is a really excellent large entry-level monitor. This is my third one. My first two are nearly two years old and have suffered heavy use and occasional abuse (in a classroom) and have held up very well. While the resolution isn't terribly high, the image quality on these monitors is very nice for an entry LCD.
Summary: Pros: +This monitor is a great value at the $160 price I paid for it with free shipping! +The picture is definitely better than most other current LCD’s. +Fast response time. +Much better than LCD monitors just a few years old! Compared to my eight year old monster Dell P991 CRT, it beats it on some, but not all counts. +Great value! +Higher contrast ratio than most (2500:1); especially in this price range. +Comes with a very good warranty - three years parts and labor!
Summary: This Acer X223W has been my main monitor for at least 3 years first being used with my desktop pc then, when my Acer laptop screen went I use it with that. My monitor cost about £120 new and was easy to set up as it is essentially a plug and play item so it should be detected when it is plugged in. My desktop pc was running XP at the time and the monitor was bought for that. Then later it ran with windows 7 on the Acer laptop.
Pros: sharp colours and images / easy to set up and update drivers
