Summary: I bought it as a replacement for an old clunker that finally blew out. This is nothing special, but it's functional and does the job I wanted it to do on a back-up computer. Too small these days for anything serious. I own other Acer monitors and they are pretty dependable.
Summary: Please note that under the V176L name Acer sells different models: V176L UM.BV6AA.001 – DVI and VGA V176L UM.BV6AA.003 – VGA only V176L b UM.BV6AA.002 – VGA only That is just the 17" models currently listed on the official Acer website, there are also some discontinued models, these have DVI: UM.BV3AA.D02, ET.BV3RP.D05. And this one is VGA only: ET.BV3RP.B01.
Summary: This monitor is good to replace a broken 17" monitor, yes it only has vga port but it's good enough for the old machine like those my company is using. Color is accurate and price is right. Will order again if needed.
Summary: Previous review warned about this, but I thought it must have been a freak occurrence, as the image AND the description do indeed show the DVI input. You can see the jack in the pictures, and the description says "The DVI-D input with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) allows for viewing of digital movies and copy-protected media." Well, there is NO such input. This is a VGA monitor, period. Amazon, you need to fix the description, pictures, etc.
Excerpt: Great monitor for the price and size due to most monitors today are wide format. I use these for viewing installed PTZ cameras in churches and other venues. they cost much less than video monitors usually purchased for these installations. The viewing angle would be the least desirable quality of these type monitors.
