Questionable monitor but hard to tell for sure what is at fault

Summary: Trying to get this to work but there are some issues. First there is no DVI input, it is really a VGA input. Found out my card has DVI-I so a DVI to VGA convertor will work for me. The fonts and icons have a faint shadow but the graphics seem clear. So what is the issue with that i don't know. Maybe windows 8.1 or some setup option i am not aware of. I will try a little longer before deciding whether to return.
The touch feature of the monitor did not work. ...

Summary: The touch feature of the monitor did not work. And I DID connect the USB cable from the monitor to the PC and also tried different cables, so that was not the cause of the problem. When I called support, I was connected to a third party support group, and NOT ACER support. The third party support group could not find the cause of the problem and advised that I return the monitor to the store. I did return the monitor and purchased a Dell monitor which worked out of box.
Summary: I have had this for several months and I love it. The color is awesome, the resolution and clarity are very good. I replaced a viewsonic and there is no comparison. The touchscreen works perfect. I am very happy with this monitor.
Summary: Speakers built in? Sounds like an old computer speaker, tinny and barely audible. Switches inputs automatically which may be desirable for some, but as soon as my attached Surface Pro goes hibernating it switches to my cable input (both HDMI). I don't want that. Why would anyone want that?? Cheap for a reason: It's a "cheap" design.
Summary: I switched to Windows 8 and, since I was used to a large 27" screen, I chose this Acer model to accommodate it. No regrets at all. Bright, responsive and plenty of inputs. I eventually mounted this on a fully articulated arm but in the meantime, I found the built-in stand easy to use. Both the stand and the clear plastic front piece are removable to allow wall-mounting. The monitor even comes with a small plastic piece to cover the mounting bracket for the stand.
Summary: it's a good screen. The touch controls don't seem to work at all for Photoshop. For everything else it's fine. I wish brightness, contrast were easier to access, the buttons and menu are not great. I still have to use my mac screen if I want accurate colors, brightness and gamma. If someone knows how to resolve my issues I'll change my rating.
Summary: I really like this monitor, although after using my new Lenovo Touch 2 Pro 13.3 Ultrabook with 3200x1800 resolution, I would expect better resolution for the size of this monitor. But for the price it was a good value. Picture quality is actually very good considering the resolution. The touch screen works flawlessly. I would recommend this to a friend.
Summary: I was at the point where sometimes I needed my reading glasses to see my monitor -- but, on other days, I didn't. My aging eyes are just at the stage where getting them to focus properly is a constant struggle. So, along with a new pc, I treated myself to this monster monitor and am so very glad I did. I also purchased Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm, Tall Pole (45-295-026)to hold the monitor.
Summary: I bought this after viewing the set-up in MS store. They didn't have any in stock and would not sell the display so I ordered this. Set-up was so simple. I am a photographer. This may save my eyes. I can see so much more detail now than on the Surface Pro set up. I HIGHLY recommend this monitor. The touch screen is fabulous!! You can't find a better monitor.
