Summary: I use this ACER S230HL in my office, I find the picture to be crisp and just bright, 23 inches is a good size for a monitor used alone or with a 2nd screen. I like that they are really thin and light, I ended up buying 4 of these for the office.
Summary: My monitor is new and there is a waving/flickering motion on the screen. At first I was using it with a computer that had only a VGA connection, and assumed it was due to using VGA. Then after two months I needed to get a new computer which supports only HDMI. Instead of improving the issue, it was much worse with HDMI mode. The waving/flickering is most pronounced at the top of the screen and with a dark solid color.
Summary: Overall, this is a good monitor. To put it succinctly, I love the backlit screen - it's very bright. I love the size and Full HD resolution. What I don't love is the fact that I can see every pixel on the screen. Maybe it's be cause I had LASIK and I now have hawk vision because my wife can't see them, but seriously... I see every pixel - very annoying. I've gone back and fixed my old Samsung 225BW from 2007 and I'm now using that...
Pros: I bought mine brand new from a local retail shop, it really is a great monitor.
Cons: No HDMI, would have been a nice option to have but not really a con just more of a nice feature set that's not included. The only real con is the stands were a little hard to get locked into the monitor, it takes a little carefully placed force to get the metal plate locked into place on the monitor, could have been better documentation included on this
Summary: Best 23" display for the money. Not an IPS display, but very nice for PC work. Color is a bit off compared to my apple imac it is connected to, but still very functional. Viewing angles narrower than imac also, but reasonable for the cost. Recommended!
