Summary: Periodically, I will check the screen for dead pixels..! So far, I have been lucky enough not to "find" any! This concern was raised after reading many reviews about this display being recieved with one, if not many. Audio Jack does not work when Connected with an HDMI cable.
Pros: As a 2D display it's Crisp and Clean. Blu-Ray Looks Good [Again, had to purchase the software seprately: PowerDVD]
Cons: Ghosting is definately an Issue with this display and I have had to adjust (lower) the 3D Depth in TriDef [Which I Had to purchase Seprately, as this display did not come with it.] to remove Ghosting even from the Center of this Display. No DVI port definately takes this Monitor out of the runnin...
Pros: AWESOME 2d performance. great colors and contrast. 3D works well with the TriDef drivers (SW:TOR looked great!) but the iZ3D drivers were garbage (tho that has nothing to do with the monitor) If your an AMD user and on a budget like me you'll really like this monitor. if your and Nvidia user dont...
Cons: There is some slight ghosting at the top of the screen while viewing 3D. 90% of the time it is minor and practically unnoticeable, tho at times it can be a tad annoying. i wouldnt let this stop you from buying one tho.
Summary: Worst 3D monitor ever.(FACT) Expected better from Acer.
Pros: 1.Works with PS3 2.HDMI 1.4a 3.Good Picture.
Cons: 1.Very bad manuals. 2.Not truly 120Hz and with 3D it only goes up to 24hz. 3.No DVI.(very big deal) 4.Glasses are very uncomfortable , gave me a headache. 5.Dead Pixel after 3 days. 6.Backlight bleeding. 7.Speakers are very bad.
Summary: This year, my wife demanded I get rid of my power tower and now that I have children and mainly deal with sysadmin stuff, I don't need as much power and GPU performance as before. This is becoming increasingly evident with cloud computing and mobile/tablet computers.
Pros: Good picture, very bright - good contrast ratio and excellent response time - HDMI 1.4a - works with Nvidia 3DTV Play - has integrated speakers
Cons: No dual-link DVI (VESA only) - IR Emitter does not appear to work with my Nvidia 3D active shutter glasses as does the 27" version of this - included 3D glasses are bulky and do not store well - 3D glasses require batteries (which are included)
Summary: The 3d was frustrating to setup because of some limitations with my modern, albeit aging, PC. You do not need a tech degree or a top of the line graphics card (I invested $139 in ATI 67xx series). You do need to download a 3rd party software, TriDef worked for me.
Pros: I need to say that I had the AH-HA moment I was hoping for. The 3d is working with a Radeon ATI 67xx series video card and the software from TriDef. This is off topic but I am a little annoyed with Nvidia over this experience. Radeon does not require youto purchase additional hardware from them b...
Cons: I still say the manual is AWFUL. I think they needed to expand on setup and diagnostics. This monitor DOES NOT have DVI connection as advertised. This is unusual for Newegg. I have never purchased something from thm that was not as adertised. Seems this one slipped by Newegg.
Summary: I am just stating to play around with 3D so the learning curve is a bit steep so I am sadly disappointed in the documentation. I have owned Acer products before and have had surprisingly good luck with them considering their reputation in the past of being cheap, throw away electronics.
Pros: This has a really nice picture, overall good looking monitor, price is reasonable.
Cons: Can not get the glasses to sync up for some reason. I have been trolling the internet for hours and hours looking for a solution. I am starting to think that the emitter in the monitor is bad or maybe the glasses but I can not tell which. I am seriously considering returning this and spending the...
Summary: My biggest problem with this monitor was that while it does produce 3d images, movies, and gameplay, it has a very distracting amount of ghosting on the top and bottom of the screen.
Pros: Good price Good 2d monitor Bright
Cons: Terrible ghosting near top and bottom of screen No DVI as listed (Actually a big deal) Not 3d Vision ready (Not supposed to be i suppose) Bulky by todays standards (dwarfs my other monitor) Touch sensitive buttons, not physical (may be pro for some) LED bleeding on bottom.
Summary: my acer gd 235hz was advertised to be the exact same size as this one (23.6"), however, this monitor has a noticeably smaller screen than that of the gd 235hz. had a huge problem with graphics card scaling with the hdmi plugs.
Pros: Runs 3d with ATI cards (and 3rd party software) good color nice design cool, touch sensitive buttons at the bottom of the monitor multiple HDMI ports comes with glasses
Cons: 3rd party software not included ghosting at the top of the screen does not run at 120hz, regardless of what the specs may say my on screen display options are all locked. certain important options a greyed out. cant find any help on acers website, no help in manual, no help in forums. you cant ru...
