Summary: We own two Acer 27 inch monitors. My wife uses her monitor for working at home 40 hours each week. Her job involves huge spreadsheets with up to 25 columns and 200 rows. I use my Acer 27 inch for emails, navigation software, astronomy software and PhotoShop work. I'm 74 and even with a special pair of glasses made for computer use only, I was experiencing eye strain and headaches using a 19 inch Dell CRT monitor.
Summary: This is a huge monitor, I bought it refurbished and when I opened it up I actually had to snap the plastic together.. The Dvi cable that came with it was crappy but I had another one that I use and it works. This is a huge monitor and great color and resolution! I recommend this monitor for everyone!
Summary: I am a developer that works during the day on monitors, and at night at home so it is safe to say that I need something that would give my eyes a break instead of having to squint at a screen. This monitor replaces a Dell Ultrasharp 2405 LCD that was just a little too small. The max resolution of 1920x1080 is the most I feel comfortable using. Do not use glasses, and do not want the need to get them in the future.
Summary: I wanted a 27" form factor monitor for my office that didn't break the bank. So far, this Acer has delivered. One problem I have been coming across is the letter boxing when used in Linux over HDMI. I also had this problem in Windows, but after installing Windows 8, the problem seems to have been resolved. This is likely a driver issue, or a preference issue I haven't come across yet, but the issue doesn't occur when using the VGA connection.
Summary: Like I mentioned in the title, the display is wonderful. The color is vibrant, and picture and texts are sharp. No light bleeding or dead pixel that I noticed. Viewing angles are great and non glaring. The default refresh rate was at 1920x1080p 60hz. I created a custom resolution through Nvidia control panel at 1920x1080p 78hz and increased the digital vibrancy value by a little and the pictures become even better!
High quality monitor with beautiful fine detail and contrast.

Summary: I have always wanted a large monitor. As I get older it becomes more difficult to see small print. This monitor is great! I can sit back, with my wireless keyboard, and easily read and see every detail on the screen. It is a beautiful monitor, and I love using it in HD mode. I do a lot of mechanical drawing and in HD mode the circles are round! That is not possible on most wide screen monitors as the circles look more egg shaped. The sharpness and contrast are excellent.
As if I didn't spend enough time on the pc, now I'm watching HD movies on it without really missing the 50"...

Summary: Quibbles: a little bleeding along the bottom, and off center viewing angles get dark pretty quick. Don't care, not an issue here. Overall, for $250 (or $500), a great display. Matte finish a definite plus in my book. Mounted on my Ergotron arm in a hurry. Nice and responsive. Great for browsing, movies, games, graphics design (where stringent standards aren't required), etc. BTW, ordered late Mon., arrived Wed. Impressive Amazon, most impressive.
