Good deal for the Price

James, Amazon
24 November 2012
  • Summary: It was cheap and I needed a large monitor. It feels kinda flimsy, but other than that I like it. I don't have any problem with it, and it has all the required basics (I consider HDMI a required basic, but that's just me) and nothing extra.

Great screen

Jason, Amazon
20 April 2011
  • Summary: Awesome screen for the money...one issue is a small humming noise though. Besides that this screen is big! Its crystal clear, and the internal speakers are an extra bonus. So 4/5 stars...and the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 is because of the humming.

Good for the money

Anonymous, Newegg
4 April 2011
  • Summary: Includes all cables that you need which is a big plus as some of them can be expensive when bought seperately.
  • Pros: No dead pixels, great sized monitor for the price, overall quality of the display is top-notch
  • Cons: Brightness and Contrast are severely out of wack. I have contrast on zero, brightness at 20 just to be tolerable. Touch-controls very tricky to use, don't always register your "touches". Minor light bleedage from the top and bottom.

Great Monitor

Jonathan H., Newegg
12 February 2011
  • Pros: Great colors (I only had to make VERY minor adjustments from the default settings, and I have high standards). The backlight is very consistently distributed compared to other, similar monitors. Especially on lower contrast/brightness settings. The "ACM" setting seemed liked something I would nev...
  • Cons: The main reason I gave it 4 eggs is because mine has a stuck pixel already. It only has one, and the pixels are so small that I don't really notice it when sitting ~2 feet from the screen. HOWEVER: I strongly disagree with the pixel policies of most monitor manufacturers (which drive the policies...

Great value for the price

rajeshmathew "cmrj", Amazon
14 October 2010
  • Summary: For my needs - primarily development + browsing, this monitor works great. Especially at the price point it is at, its a great deal. The only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is because of its speakers.

Pretty Good ... No Major Complaints

Anton M., Newegg
19 May 2010
  • Summary: I found the screen angle adjustment to be excessively stiff. I wish Acer could deal with that. Also, the wake-up from the power-saving mode is a bit slow. I don't know whether slow wake-up times are typical for large monitors.
  • Pros: My computer immediately recognized the monitor and all the necessary adjustments were automatically made. I've owned this for a year without a significant glitch, and not a single pixel is dead.
  • Cons: Using the manual setting controls is not completely intuitive and the touch-sensitive "buttons" don't respond well at all on my monitor. Fortunately, I've not been needing to make many adjustments, but it would be nice to be able to explore the various settings, but I soon gave up as I realized h...

Good for the price, but could be improved

D. Mckinzie, Amazon
28 April 2010
  • Summary: I have no complaint about the "picture quality" of this monitor. My complaint is that, (A) like most electronic equipment, the instructions are long on telling stuff that any idiot should know (how to set it up, don't sit near heat, etc) and short on showing photos of what cable goes where (the...

User Review

Adrian F., Newegg
24 April 2010
  • Summary: The touch sensors for adjusting the settings didn't take long to figure out. It's a nifty idea, but I can see possibly problems and frustration with clumsy consumers.
  • Pros: I've had this baby for about a year and it hasn't disappointed us. I hooked it up directly to our Sony Blu-ray player and Sony PS3 for fun and it looked spectacularly crisp.
  • Cons: Minor con, but the speakers just suck. However, I mostly believe speakers have no business being on this monitor. Other decent selling monitors don't have them, and gamers and enthusiasts alike usually wouldn't care or bother with them.

Very pleased with this monitor

James C., Newegg
13 February 2010
  • Summary: This monitor replaced an Acer 17" 4:3 monitor, and wow what a difference. This monitor is on a Pro Tools audio workstation, and having that extra screen real estate for working in the software is excellent. Don't underestimate the human tendency to want more and more though.
  • Pros: Looks great. Picture is very nice. I feel like it could maybe be a little better, but I'm pushing it with an older card (Nvidia 7300 LE), so maybe a better card would give me better results. Either way I'm very happy and feel no need to get a new card right now. I love the touch controls. They we...
  • Cons: One issue I've seen other people mention is the buzzy/hum this monitor will give you if you turn the Brightness down anywhere lower than around 88. It's true. Mine does it. And it's a nasty high-pitched whine. For me, 88 is probably the first number where it's completely gone. I just leave it at ...

Anonymous, Newegg
19 January 2010

  • Pros: Price - Res - Size - HDMI - Built in speakers - VEGA mount
  • Cons: Dead Pixel - Speakers don't sound very good at all.
