Summary: this is a nice monitor that has a very fast response time and a sharp picture. it is worlds faster than the six year old acer that i replaced. although it is a refurbished unit, i see no bad pixels and no signs of wear. it is a first class gaming monitor, and is also excellent for movies and normal use. i have not used the 3d feature yet, so i can't address that, but otherwise i feel i spent my money well.
Summary: A great 120hz monitor for a price you cant beat. Cons first, there is some minor light bleed when it gets dark in the room, and at first the menus are a bit frustrating, also at times the darks are a bit to dark. The pros are the price above all else as well as the crystal clear picture 2ms response time and 120hz refresh rate If your a gamer looking for a monitor that will give you an edge in fps shooters look no further!
Summary: This monitor looks amazing! Colors pop in a way they never did before, and due to the high refresh rate, I no longer have to use v-sync in games to prevent screen tearing! I have a fairly high-end setup, but Crysis 3 was DRAGGING on the 'Ultra' settings (more than just screen tearing). I hooked up this monitor and bumped it back up to 'Ultra', disabled v-sync, and it runs as smooth as you could ever want!
Summary: Acer's manual and marketing details state the monitor has a 2ms response time, however I see ranges from 9-17ms from my testing. Their manual doesn't state weather this measurement is for white->back->white or grey-to-grey, so I tested both. I also tested "display lag" and saw numbers from 11-22ms depending on weither v-sync waiting was turned on or not. My methodology was to use a 1000 fps video camera and a micro-controller hooked up to the PC.
Summary: I have had this monitor for several days now and it is an amazing piece of equipment to look at. I bought this monitor for mostly playing PC games and the quality is amazing. The colors are extremely vibrant and crisp with the ability to give you 120 frames per second with a 2 millisecond response time.
Summary: Out of the box the monitor has a great deal of artificial sharpening that makes text looks terrible. You can however disable the added sharpening by turning off the overdrive setting in the service menu (disabling it also reduces input lag). Disabling overdrive though causes the monitor to revert to 100% brightness every time it's powered on or returns from sleep mode.
Summary: Let me start by saying if I could give this review a -50 stars I wish I could. Maybe some of you don't have this problem, but I know of over 20 cases of buzzing from this monitor. If you don't know if yours buzzes, try going to a dark website such as Hardforum.com at 120Hz and see if the back of your monitor buzzes. Anyways, back to the point: I've tried to be so calm over the past month of dealing with Acer and their terrible service and support.
