Summary: Color accuracy and amount of options are perfect. OSD interface is a bit wonky, but not enough to subtract a star. The viewing angle is where this monitor is lacking a bit, but don't let that detract from a purchase. It was a seamless transition from my old HP LP2475w. If you have an older monitor and need something decent for all types of media as well as for graphic design work, this fits the bill nicely. The extra screen real estate really does make a difference.
Summary: The monitor is nice, however, the sound volume is very poor. I need to watch videos for the work I am doing and I really can't hear the sound very well. I will need to add external speakers. But the screen is large and clear.
Summary: Two defective units received. The first unit and a replacement unit were both in operative out-of-the-box. I tried every conceivable thing, including getting a different power cord, making sure my sockets were working and having a conversation with Acer about the second unit. The Acer rep confirmed that the second unit was not working after we tried everything we could.
Summary: This monitor's awesome! It's really wonderful to have so much screen space. I did have to do some work to get the right cable to connect it to my MacBook Pro. The HDMI output was poor (fine for HDTV, but not for a computer monitor), so I needed a converter from the Mac mini-displayport. I had an old mini-displayport to DVI cable from my last monitor, but apparently it was only some basic version of DVI that had a maximum resolution of 1920 wide.
Summary: I was debating on buying this or a 'low cost' 4k mostly for productivity/multi programs. I am very happy with the purchase and saved me money in the long run. I will consider buying another one here shortly!
Summary: I am on the second monitor and will be replacing it yet again. There must be a quality issue with the batch I am receiving because on multiple computers and different cables, the screen intermittently has washed out color and loses crispness. I received a pretty good deal on this monitor, but I would rather pay less for one with consistent quality. Otherwise this has all of the hookups I need, a USB hub, a great aspect ratio, good stand, good resolution, etc.
Great second monitor with MacBook Pro with Retina - Display Port glitch
Creative Designer, Amazon
30 April 2014
Summary: So I got this for work and it's a great monitor when working with multiple windows. Having a MacBook with Retina definitely shows the difference between the two (my Acer is running 2560x1080 @ 60Hz). However when I use the mini Display port to Display Port cable it presents a minor problem: my cursor will stutter on the Acer screen from time to time. After several disconnects and restarts it would be normal but would happen everyday.
Summary: I wound up sending one of these back to Amazon that may have been functional: The first time you turn the monitor on, if it's connected via DisplayPort, it may not turn on either the screen backlight or even the little blue-or-amber LED that tells you it's turned on or in power saving mode. It wasn't until I got a second one that exhibited the same behavior that I started thinking, "Hey, wait a minute here...
