Summary: Bought this back in 2011 and just bought another one off another site today to be my second monitor. This one still works 100% with no dead pixels or plastic breaking or anything. Just keep in mind that the part of the stand that sits on your desk is decently sized so it takes up some desk space.
Pros: - All of the adjustments - 2ms latency - Big 24" display (1920 x 1080) - Came nicely packaged
Cons: - The bezel parts that border the screen are like an inch wide - No HDMI port or USB ports - Cost me $231 at the time - Not 1ms latency, haha
Summary: got this as a second monitor to sit vertically next to a semi-pro samsung GTG (245T). for the price, pretty decent. however, the difference in off-axis quality is stupefying. i had expected at least some progress in the last few years in terms of off-axis viewability, but apparently that's not the...
Pros: bright, sharp display with sturdy stand. DVI works fine, as does VGA. ZERO dead pixels (yaay). color reproduction and luminance range is quite good. warm-up time is pleasantly short (10-20 sec for full color range). no outright flaws outside of those that are designed in.
Cons: is not GTG (i know that is not its design specification, but still, the off-axis color reproduction is terrible, like an old laptop). 1080 vs. 1200; finicky, poorly planned menu controls. just be aware that if you want to view content from the left, right and top at an angle even up to about 70°,...
Summary: this probably is a refurbished machine as I felt when opening the box and also the darkness in the upper corners;
Pros: big; cheap; can rotate;
Cons: big, kinda blurry, display effects significantly worse than Acer X233H (my older screen); not worth it unless you wanna play with Newegg.com's return policy....; the display effect is even worse when rotated;
Summary: The individual pixels don't rotate with the screen, so sub-pixel font rendering doesn't work well when this monitor is rotated 90 degrees relative to another monitor with the same pixel orientation. Oh well.
Pros: The range of motion of this monitor is exactly as advertised, and the picture quality is amazing. It looks much better when placed in portrait mode than any other monitor with which I've done the same. The base is very sturdy; this thing's not going anywhere. The brightness and contrast of the sc...
Cons: It's heavy, it's hot, and it makes my 23" Acer look like garbage. My only real concern is power consumption - but if that were enough to drop an egg, I wouldn't be driving it with Fermi technology.
Summary: If it were a solo, primary monitor I think it would do the job well. That being said, IMHO ASUS makes better monitors at similar prices.
Pros: I have it set up in portrait mode as a second monitor, which was very easy with the locking mechanism on the back of the monitor which allows you to spin the screen on it's stand.
Cons: The monitor quality isn't STELLAR, but that's what you get for this price. I have it setup in portrait mode, so the problems of LCD monitors when viewed from low (brightens) or high (darkens) angles becomes a problem when viewed from sharp left (brightens) or right (darkens) angles, which is anno...
Summary: I guess this is what we are to expect with a $220 monitor, as opposed to a $2000 Apple cinema display The value is great here, but the quality image doesn't seem to last many months
Pros: Great size and price. Low profile bezel, solid stand
Cons: I've bought 3 of these over the past year, each one (even with the same settings) has different brightnesses and color appearances Putting the monitors next to each other and stretching a white document across the three: Newest one (and how I remember the other two when I bought them new) - a bri...
Summary: This cost our company Thousands, it also took over 3 weeks to get the units repaired and sent back, Oh, and WE have to pay shipping back to them for repair. No, we did not buy these on Newegg but I am a big newegg customer and wanted to make people aware of these defective products.
Pros: It did turn on out of the box
Cons: we have purchased around 40 of the Acer 24" monitors in a large bulk order a few months ago. Over 50% of them have gone bad within the first 2 months. Yellowing in the lower right hand corner.
Summary: I bought this for a gaming rig and no matter what I do I can not get rid of tearing in video games. It looks horrible. This monitor replaces a 19" dell and I almost want to go back. It is paired up with an XFXHD6950 with vsync always on so there is more than enough power here.
Pros: Adjustable stand with great options. Great color, clarity. Easy setup. Text looks blurry but that is more the video card. Large!
Cons: Screen tearing in video games. Resolution needs to start exceeding 1920x1080 for monitors of this size. Could use a few more connection options.
