Summary: We were very excited to get his to replace our old 19" VGA monitor. Over time, though, it became clear that the response time was on the slow side for gaming, and the color was a bit off for video watching. Then the backlight died after 8 months of regular use. I wouldn't recommend it.
Summary: Ditto with the one star rating a few reviews below regarding incompatibility for pre-Vista operating systems and an absolute lack of customer support. Acer does not provide driver software with the monitor. You can get a driver for Vista, but according to their Tech Support, if you're using Windows XP (like 99.9% of the PC world!), there are no drivers available for this 1680X1050 pixel screen.
Summary: Don't buy this!! 1. Uneven illumination - it's most noticeable at boot-up time when the entire screen is grey -- the corners are a different shade from the center of the screen. 2. It has a "focus" option. But no matter how you adjust it, you can't get everything sharp. If the left of the screen is sharp, then the right is smeared and vice-versa. This is especially noticeable with text. 3. External power supply. This is common, but not necessary, in my opinion.
Summary: The monitor was beautiful, with excellent resolution, but I had to send it back. I got sound, but no picture when trying to play a DVD or run a video on Windows Media. The instructions manual that came with the Acer monitor was pathetic - no help at all. Online tech help, which responded only after I waited ONE WEEK told me to contact the manufacturer of my laptop. There was no customer service number in the instructions manual.
