Acer monitor

Mrs L Jones "LMB", Amazon

  • Summary: Had this for years now (didn't realise I hadn't reviewed it) and I've never had a problem with it. Would happily get another only I don't need one yet!

Dead After 5 Years. Planned obsolescence?

N. Marie, Amazon
23 January 2013
  • Summary: Bought this for £100 5 years ago new from Amazon. I know this monitor has long been replaced with newer models but someone might find this helpful when deciding on Acer as a brand. While it functioned okay it was not without its faults. It didn't seem to get on very well with my Dell Dimension E521 desktop.

Affordable reliability

Andy Pieters "x_terminat_or_3", Amazon
29 August 2012
  • Summary: More than five years after purchasing this screen it is still doing daily service with a smile. When you press the power button to power it on, it will display the Acer logo in cyan on a black background. Sometimes, on one of the screens I have, it gets stuck on the Acer logo, and I have to unplug the power cord to fix it. This only happens once in a blue moon, and only ever on the same screen. I am not an expert on screens but I am happy with it.

Acer 19" monitor

shortvehicle, Amazon

  • Summary: Still in use, well over a year, maybe two now. Better than the Benq I had before, and apart from a few picture wobbles (that could be my computer video card) it is fine.

Bargain Brilliance

downsider "downsider", Amazon
21 June 2008
  • Summary: This surely has to be one of the best value screens on the market. It's priced at the bottom end of the range for this size, but delivers top quality picture, with bright clear colours and absolutely no flicker. Text is extremely clear which was precisely what my student son needed for long hours writing essays. I wish I'd bought one for myself!

Great, great monitor

W. S. Hawkins, Amazon
18 March 2008
  • Summary: This is just a fantastic monitor. Very reasonably priced, a nice crisp and bright display. I play Half-Life 2 on it, and the response is great - no ghosting. There is a little bit of glow in the bottom right of my screen from the backlight which you can see when playing dark games like Half Life, but it's hardly noticeable, and what can you ask for the price? No dead pixels.

  • Summary: I connected this to my Macbook and it was recognised by the Mac without any need to download or install drivers or updates. You will need to purchase a Mini DVI to VGA adapter from Apple.
