Summary: I bought an AW1916WA monitor, used, locally to hook up to my 11.6" Windows 7 netbook. The monitor was in great shape externally. It was easy to hook up but the picture initially was not very impressive. I went through the Windows calibration and the picture was perfect. I use the VGA input and I have had no reason to make any adjustments since my initial setup. I have it next to a 23" LED, 1080p, IPS monitor and it is of course not as good but it compares favorably.
Acer monitors can be fixed and it is fun to do so.

Summary: Keep in mind I do not buy working monitors. I love the fixing part of the process and the satisfaction of having a working monitor when I am done. Overall, I like the Acer monitor as it seems to be an easy fix and a nice monitor to use.
Summary: I got this monitor at Walmart and it was fantastic for my needs. The monitor only lasted just over a year. That is unacceptable. About a week ago the monitor would not wake up. It powered on but would not come on. Several cable and monitor swaps later I narrowed it down to a bad monitor. I replaced it recently with a 23" HP monitor for about the same price.
Summary: This monitor is a great value for the price. It works with every card and every pc i've connected it to with no problem. It's resolution is clear, it's maintenance cheap, and it's serial cable is diconnectable, which are harder and harder to find for some reason. I would buy these monitors all day long!
Summary: Absolutely nothing wrong with this monitor. Vibrant color, responsive. Cannot see the pixels at all... very fine. Blacks are very very black... good conrast. Good consistency across the screen. No complaints and half the price of lesser monitors. Get this one.
Summary: I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers are complaining about. I have none of the problems about which they are complaining: --the colors are by no means washed out --there is no edge shimmer or any other shimmer --color syncing to other monitors is spot on --color accuracy seems very good, but I have not evaluated this thoroughly I use this monitor with a DVI cable and maybe that is why my experience is so much better than that of others.
Summary: I bought this monitor to replace a small CRT model. Prior to this purchase, I bought an Optiquest for my computer at the office. That one was not a widescreen model. I bought this Acer because of its price, not because of the widescreen aspect. I don't like the Acer as well as the Optiquest. As others have pointed out, the colors seem washed out compared to the Optiquest, and there is a very annoying shimmer at the edges of all of the windows you open up.
