Awesome External Modem!
18 May 2013
Summary: I'm totally pleased with this product! I'm using it on a 10-year-old Macintosh iMac OSX 10.4x, because recently I've had BIG trouble with the internal modem--hang-ups, very slow performance, confusion in both Mail program & browsers, etc.I already had the modem script in my Library folder, so I simply plugged the modem in & shifted the computer phone line to it. Then, after configuring it to my ISP in System Pref's, I opened Internet Connect, and it works perfectly!
Summary: I have been utilizing my Zoom external USB modem and it has worked with out fail. I would highly recommend this product as an alternative to not having broadband service. I had to tinker with it a bit to get it to work with my aol account but mission accomplished. To bad they are just not making dial up modems anymore.
Summary: I bought this b/c I live in a very rural area and have dial up.This modem is not worth the money. 50 bucks for something that lasted only 9 months is insane! It would disconnet me all the time and then it just stopped working I could not move my laptop an inch without it disconneting. An it doesnt even have a warranty. The 1st 6months it worked just fine and at 9months it just would not work.If you want a usb modem to last this isnt it.
Summary: Recently purchased a new laptop which did not have a modem for dial-up service. We live in an area that has WiFi, but sometimes it goes down. When this happens I then go to my backup dialup provider. This Zoom External modem is just perfect for my laptop. Easy to install, connects to my phone line & provider without any problems + inexpensive.
