The SMC SMC8414-2P-SIP is a voice-enabled cable modem. It not only provides internet connection, but also offers VoIP telephone service. It is a cost-effective solution which combines voice and data service in one network. It is DOCSIS 2.0 certified, which ensures in providing the fastest possible uploading and downloading speeds from internet service provider. Meanwhile, it is backward compatible with DOCSIS 1.1 as well. It supports Network Call Signaling (NCS) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) protocols. It DHCP and TFTP clients feature enables it to obtain its IP address and configuration data from network servers automatically. In addition, it supports Quality of Service (QoS). This feature ensures data access does not affect the voice quality. In terms of installation procedures, it offers plug-and-play installation to makes it all user-friendly. It supports 2 telephone lines with RJ-11 connectors. Furthermore, it provides 1 10/100 Ethernet port and 1 USB port. Its front panel is equipped with LED indicators that indicate network status and activity. It measures 9.1 x 5.9 x 2.2 inches in dimension and weighs approximately 560g.
