And Staples doesn't carry a VDSL modem.My other Netgear purchases (router, switch) have been SPOT ON! So, if I had a need for an ADSL modem, I'm confident this would've done the trick.

Excerpt: I spent 4 days working with techs to find my problem we went through my computer changed setting went through safe mode check typed all kinds of things in safe mode . And finally as the last thing left the tech said it must be your modem . Would have been nice if we had checked it first of all. This was not Staples tech , but my isp tech. Any way they were going to send me one over night ,but 4 days later dropped off at a nieghbors house .
Excerpt: I bought this modem to replace a ten year old ADSL modem from the phone company. It works great, it seems to speed up my internet. The set up was quite easy. The included set up disc shows you exactly which wires go where, whether you also have a phone hooked up or just your computer. I was back online in less than 30 minutes. I only wish it had multiple LAN outputs. It only has one, so I had to rout it through my wireless router then to my computer.
Excerpt: It turned out that I did not need the modem, but my old modem is the exact same modem. My DSL provider told me that the DSL lines were perfect and that the red light that was blinking meant that my modem was bad. After purchasing and hooking up the modem, I still had no DSL. I contacted netgear support and they were outstanding. After an hour of trying to get the modem to work, we had a conference call will the DSL provider.
Summary: I struggled with this modem for hours trying to figure out why it would not recognize my internet connection! I called my ISP and asked if this modem being an ADSL+2 modem, if it wasn't compatible with my internet service. Windstream, after giving the model number and such, stated it should work and is 100% compatible to call Netgear's costumer service.
