An excellent product, easy to "plug and play" with a minimum of fuss.

  • Summary: This is a great modem. Lot's of punch, easy to set up (both WAP wireless and via Ethernet cable). Highly recommended for ADSL1 and/or ADSL2 connections. I had not trouble with bandwidth, IP address clashes or anything else.

Poor

xicao, Amazon
29 January 2013
  • Summary: This router promises much but delivers disappointment. I bought it to increase the range of my wireless network but there is little improvement on the Netgear DG834GT I used previously. The online manual is confusing, referring to a WPS switch (not present) and an external antenna (it is internal).

Versatile kit with one important missing function

taizefreak, Ebay
3 November 2012
  • Summary: Great router and modem. VOIP is limited because it lacks PSTN passthrough, so you have to forward your old landline number if you want to keep it live. The passthrough is a simple feature and found on previous NetGear modems with VOIP, so it's annoying that it's missing.

  • Summary: A gorgeous, reliable bit of kit which, with a couple of easy to use unofficial firmwares can be made to be even better! You need the AMOD firmware and the MODFS firmware. A quick go with your favourite search engine will locate these.

gavinzh001, Ebay
5 August 2012
  • Summary: It works perfect. I put it on the floor and lock it in a box. (I know this is not a good plan.) There are three walls between the router and the PC. No problem at all. I choose the router + modem, but not the combined one is because I wonder maybe i need to change the modem when the national broad...
