  • Pros: This modem worked perfectly out of the box. Don't bother with a Zoom modem. This is worth the money. I use this with an auto-dialer alarm package. The sound/voice is very good. It even has handy indicator lights.
  • Cons: You have to go to the MultiTech website for drivers. I suppose you would have to download drivers even if it did come with a disk to be sure that you have the latest version anyway.

  • Summary: Caused my Dell PC on Windows 7 64bit to turn back on after shutdown (acted like I clicked RESTART). The only way to turn PC off was to unplug ac cord. Also there was no sound from the audio out jack.

An Overpriced Disappointment

  • Summary: Compatability issues with third party software.
  • Pros: PCI-e interface, and sending and receiving a fax is a snap.
  • Cons: Connects at low speeds, Speakerphone feature is a total waste of time. Speakerphone clarity was an issue back in the nineties, and it is still a problem.
