Summary: I moved into a new place and Time Warner cable wanted to charge me $6 bucks a month to provide a router and modem set up. I went online and found this one. Figuring it was worth a shot I bought it. The Time Warner guy installed it and it works great. That is the good. The bad, is this: I pay a little more for a faster internet connection. (15MB) down, 1 up, for those who that means something to.
Summary: I bought this modem to replace my Comcast leased modem. After talking to Comcast and insuring that it would work with their system I made the purchase. However, when installing the modem, Comcast notified that it would NOT work on their system due to the lack of VOIP support on the device (It would not support my phone). So, money wasted on a working item that I can not use.
Summary: Bought this to replace my Comcast modem I was paying $7/mo for. Easy set up, after calling Comcast and registering it. Seems to be just as fast as the Comcast unit, but Comcast had a built-in router so I had to add a router, which I already had. I would say it was a great deal since it was about 1/2 the price of a new one.
Summary: I bought this wanting to stop renting the wireless gateway provided by WOW for $9 per month. Even though it was refurbished, I find it to be more responsive that the rented one, which was so week that after my computer had been hibernating for a while, when it woke up it would always connect to my neighbor's wireless first. Very annoying. I'm please with this purchase and would recommend to anyone wanting to replace a rented wireless gateway from WOW.
Summary: I bought one of these brand new a couple of years ago for my daughter's apartment and it has served very well. Bought this one used for my Mother-In-Law and have had no problems with it (can't say the same for her!).
Summary: Yeah, works fine! Can't get too far away from the box.... My front porch I get a really week signal, and I live in a 1100 sqr ft apartment. But, it does its job. My only complaint is that it only has a single input and no out put. Therefore, now I have to get another wireless receiver, or some electronic device that will run to my dish receiver now so that I can get on demand movies or order movies. But that's my fault for not researching well enough.
Summary: We have used a Motorola 802 for five years and now the newer one is out and it has turned out to be a disaster! All reviews stink! It heats up and turns off so we were horrified that we were going to have to deal with it. Then I said, "Try Amazon"! Since we could only find refurbished ones and a new one was not to be found anywhere we clicked on Amazon, our favorite shopping venue, and found one on sale from "Save the Earth Books".
