Modem installation/ activation easy; download speed much increased

Summary: This Docsis 3.0 modem is awesome. I have Comcast cable internet. My previous Docsis 2.0 modem gave me a download speed of 35 Mbps. With this one, the download speed is 58 Mbps. Online activation (with Windows 7) was essentially automatic. On the first try, I got a message (on Internet Explorer 11) that activation was unsuccessful and I would need to phone Comcast.
Summary: I bought this because it was on Comcast's list of approved modems. After installation, I was on the phone with Comcast for an hour and a half. Best we could come up with was bonded channel downstream, but not upstream. Then, for no apparent reason, the modem would spontaneously reboot itself. After a couple of weeks trying to figure it out, I bought a Motorola SB 6121. Works great.
Summary: I ordered the Cisco DPC3008-CC DOCSIS 3 modem as I wanted to avoid paying the $8/mo. for Comcast equipment fees for their wireless eMTA gateway as I didn't want digital home phone and I already had a wireless router. This simple cable modem works well with great throughput and low latency on Xfinity. If your provider charges equipment rental fees, this modem will pay for itself in less than a year.
Summary: Great product, not much to set it up other than speaking with the right person at comcast. However, I am using a Cisco WRVS4400N Wireless-N Gigabit Security Router - VPN V2.0 In order to use Docsys 3.0 provided by my new modem, I had disable IPS security, otherwise the speed will not go beyond 4 GBps, it took me a while to figure out, nobody at Comcast would have a clue. I was advised by Cisco tech support.
