Summary: Had to talk to a very novice family member over the phone for installation of modem. Would have been nice just to put a disc in and have an autorun file go through the setup for him. All in all it wasn't that difficult of an install and still took less than 10 minutes.
Pros: Easy setup with windows hardware wizard.
Cons: Wish it was just a bit cheaper when all you really want is a reliable modem card.
Pros: A customer of mine had ordered a laptop from the net. Turns out the modem was bad when she received it. Being that in her location, dial-up is the only option, I told her about this product and how well they worked...
Cons: Even though the reviews show this is compatible with XP, we found it NOT to be compatible with our Gateway 450SX4 laptop. Called Diamond tech support, they said if the drivers on the CD don't work, then no, this moden won't work with this type of laptop.
Summary: My laptops modem had stopped working & I was in a panic. I ordered this PCMCIA card from NewEgg & I am very pleased. Only takes seconds to install & takes only seconds to get online! If you want a fast reliable modem, choose this!
