Volcano Escape

AppGamer.net
11 March 2011
  • Excerpt: Jumping games have been trying to catch up with Doodle Jump ever since that game got to the top of the App Store charts.  Adding new ideas to the jump mechanic can work either way, though, over-complicating what should be a simple pick-up-and-play game or making it more unique. Volcano Escape goes for a rising pool of lava and enemies to shoot at as you make your way up the screen.

  • Excerpt: Watch out for falling bricks What do you do when you own the Tetris licence and still want to make a few more bucks from block building mania? If you're EA you go and get the Lego licence and make a whole new style of block builder. Lego Escape has some clear similarities with Russia'a greatest export but it also has a lot in common with the more recent Aquastax.

Time to Lego of Tetris?

Pocket Gamer

  • Conclusion: As Tetris clones go, Lego Escape offers much innovation, but outside of that niche genre it is awkward, untidy and repetitive.

  • Excerpt: Another fun and simple game from Tendbeyond... just a little too simple. Aah the joy of reviewing Symbian titles, you are practically guaranteed good graphics and good sound, especially from Tendbeyond, and that's half the battle in creating an enjoyable game.

LEGO Escape

Airgamer
11 September 2008
  • Pros: Witzige Tetris-Variante, Farbenfrohe LEGO-Spielwelt
  • Cons: Auf Dauer motivationsarme Spielmodi, Etwas überempfindliche Steuerung
