Summary: You get what you pay for. It's amazing now easy it is to clean though, especially after kneading dough. When I made dough previously, there would always be little bits stuck to the side of the bowl. With the mixer, it gathers all of this little bits into the main dough ball, meaning you get a virtually spotless bowl with a nice, smooth dough ball in the middle when you're done. I only gave it 4 eggs because I have yet to formulate an opinion on its durability.
Pros: Powerful (as advertised). Thorough, meaning it reaches all parts of the bowl (as advertised). Easy to clean (see below).
Cons: Takes up significant counter space (as advertised). Motor grease is pungent (as mentioned in the user's manual).
Summary: Returned to Seller- Mixer was not this model- lesser wattage and motor grinding.I needed a mixer that was powerful enough to use for making bread. My 14 year old Classic is no longer able to make Divinity or stirring bread dough
Summary: I am very happy with my kitchenAid stand mixer. I only wish I had not waited this long to purchase one. You may not use it everyday but when you do you know it was money well spent. I will be buying one for my daughter.
Summary: I got my beater-blade with the silicon scrapers attachment and used my KA for the first time. I love it. It is a beautiful mixer, works very nicely, and I am extremely pleased with the results in making a few dozen cookies in it. I will be using this KA mixer every week now that I have a nice mixer and a 5 qt bowl. My next purchase will be a 7 qt bowl before the holidays that will work with my KA mixer.
