Summary: i was concerned that it would be too big for my counter. it isn't. it's awesome. i use it almost every day. i make friggin bread all the time now (thanks, ka--i've gained 20 lbs. since i got this thing!). no more kneading. no more punching down. just leave the dough in the bowl, let it rise there, and give it a buzz once risen. with the attachments, you don't need to keep ANYthing else on the counter, so you're gold. pasta is a breeze.
Summary: This is awesome. If you love baking and love the kitchen this is just your thing. The attachments are sturdy and they are easy to install and remove. The bowl is nice and deep. I also just got the kitchenaid cover for this which makes it even better.
You need the pouring spout and handle....trust me!

Summary: Thought I didn't need to buy the next level up, but after using this one I should have spent the extra money. On my old mixer (it was probably 20 years old) the base moved and the beaters stayed stationary. With this new model the beaters move....making it very challenging to pour ingredients in. The "pouring spout" not included on this model would be very handy. Also, the bowl does not have a handle - again I didn't think I needed it.
Summary: I just replaced my last KitchenAid stand mixer, because it broke after 17 years of use. It's amazing to me that the price hasn't changed over the years, as this basic stand mixer is priced exactly what I paid at a brick and mortar store 17 years ago. This basic stand mixer comes with a stainless steel bowl (no handle), a wire whip, a general paddle, and a dough hook. All my old bowls and attachments from my previous mixer fit this mixer as well.
Summary: Love it. The only problem was that when I bought it it showed mixing bowl with the handle on it. Even the pictures in book had handle on it. It looks like the extra bowl you can buy. It really would not be a problem if my hands worked better. But because of this problem I have to have someone else hold bowl for me. I have wanted one of these for years and had finally saved enough to get one. But it is still a great product and I got it for a good price.
Summary: This is my first stand mixer..Bought it 3-4 years ago and still going pretty strong. I choose this mixer because it was recommended by Cook's Illustrated. Never once had a problem.. well except this one time where the metal rod came out. The one that attached the head to the body. But that was a simple fix. I bake a lot (love baking seriously).. Its fun it's also a stress reliever for me haha. If i'm mad, sad, etc.. I'll just bake :)..

Summary: We love our Kitchenaid! I wanted one that would mix dough like the one in my Step dad's business, but realized this is from the same company, so it would fit in better with what I needed. My husband has wanted one for years. We love that it is heavy-duty and can handle all of our mixing needs. I especially love that this one had all of the attachments. We thought we had the grinding attachment, but it didn't fit, so we will look for one.
