Summary: I bought Model K45SS which was made in Ohio, USA over 30 years ago. I also bought several accessory attachments for this mixer. This mixer is tough and durable as it is still running today. Before buying this mixer I went thru several mixers all of which could not do the mixing needed to do pound cakes with 6 eggs which needed 2 minutes for each egg added to blend.
Summary: This is a real machine. It looks nice in the Kitchen, but it is obvious the first time you use it and then every time after, that you own a machine not a toy. I have owned many low cost kitchen toys that were just diasters in an attractive plastic case. This one is a machine that costs a little more, but is worth it. It is worth it just from a "life time" cost basis, but just as important to me, delivers a very noticable "enhanced experience" while using it.
Pros: It makes you wish every appliance was as good. I am now very hard to satisfy
Cons: It makes you wish every appliance was as good. I am now very hard to satisfy
Summary: My wife is an amateur cake decorator and cake instructor. KitchenAid mixers are her preferred brand. They are tough and easy to use. We have 5 of them, the first was purchased in 1988, and have never had a problem with any of them. This model is a wonderful one for home or small business use. KitchenAid has always had one of the best customer service teams I have ever encountered. We always buy KitchenAid if we have a choice.
Summary: It was $115 with free shipping so I splurged! I have a black appliance package so I bought black appliance paint and went to town. I even painted the cord. The paint has held up perfectly and I use my mixer all the time! Meatloaf, party dips, best money I've ever spent!
Summary: I have used my mixer several times and for many different types of foods and recipes. I have made cookie dough, ice cream, whipped cream, bread sticks, and even shredded chicken with it! The attachments are easy to insert and take out, and of course it looks great on my counter top!
Summary: There's a reason that these stand mixers end up on wedding registries all over the place - they are awesome. I bought mine here when it was on sale years ago and still love it. It was/is my first stand mixer and is SO easy to use. It's also super sturdy and seems virtually unbreakable, so I wasn't afraid that I was going to do something wrong and snap a piece off.
