Summary: Everything worked great during the warranty period. Then the cassette system broke. Ok, we use cd's anyway. Shortly thereafter the world of color went out, meaning the light show that displayed while playing. Later a loud clicking started, louder than the cd. Lasted for about 2 1/2 yrs. Not worth the money we paid. Had decent sound but for too short a time. We bought a "Bose" to replace it.
Same problem another reviewer identified after 14 months

Summary: I had a hard time finding a multi-CD changer all-in-one unit. I really just needed a decent boom box that would hold 3 or more CDs. This one was a little bigger and a little pricier than what I had in mind, but at least it was a Sony -- and all other Sony products I have owned have been basically flawless. It worked fine for the first 14 months or so, but then started making what another reviewer (Taneka, 1 star) "it started making a grinding, knocking noise.
Summary: Sony has really manufactured an astonishing product here. This is, no tall tale, the best stereo system I have ever owned. There are connections to attach an Ipod or MP3 player, a computer or laptop, and if you arenot happy with the sound the equalizer. The speakers have profound, easy to listen to sound that you can change from surround sound to stereo. I highly recomend this system to anyone looking for new equipment. Out of ten I would rate this an easy 9.
Summary: I loved this stereo system when I fist got it in 2010 but then a year and a half into my owning it it started making a grinding, knocking noise. For the money ($326.00) I expected it to last longer and to be a lot sturdier, but I got screwed. Now here it is in 2012 and im stuck with a 3 speaker system that doesn't work and I don't know whether to repair it or just get rid of it. I will never spend 300+ dollars on a sound system from sony again.
Summary: I bought this for my Grandson and it was so good that I wanted to keep it for myself... but, of course, Gabe would have none of that. Anyway, it is a great sounding little stereo with some really good MP3 features.
Summary: I purchased this stereo several months ago and have listened to it nearly every day. POSITIVES The sound is excellent from a bookshelf unit. It doesn't compare to an expensive component system with premium speakers, but it sounds great. The subwoofer really provides rich sound. NEGATIVES USB MP3/WMA PLAYBACK There are two USB ports, but the playback is severely limited. USB is limited to playback at a maximum rate of 192kb.
Summary: I checked the reviews on amazon and other websites and everyone was very happy with this unit for the price. it has a great sound, very clear with lots of power and no distortion that I can hear. Yes, they could have made it look a little better but it's not that hard to look at and I wish the light display would cut off, but I am so pleased with the sound that I will still give it 5 stars.
Summary: This unit has amazing sound and is very attractive. It is very difficult to find small units to fit into old fashioned entertainment centers that have real power. This one is a definite 10!!! The only trouble I had was locating a more extensive manual to learn the vast features.
