Summary: I liked the design of the oven, so I bought it. It quit working within a year. I had to replace it, and bought an extended warranty on the SECOND over. It died after about 14 months...... Then things got even worse! Whirlpool DECLINED to repair the oven, and sent a check for a little over $300 (for this $1,000 oven). Evidently, this is part of the terms under the Whirlpool "warranty", so you are stuck with it. Do not buy.
STAY AWAY!!! THIS AND WHIRLPOOL OTHER PRODUCT! JUNK!!!!

Summary: We got the whole suite of Whirlpool appliances with our new house. Every piece: fridge, dishwasher and this microwave gave us only grief and never ending service calls. And this is after only 4 months of using them, they all fall apart. This oven has a nice display, however, while cooking the door sucks in all the water vapor from below cooking top and the moisture sits there for hours where all the electronics are.
Summary: I was initially impressed with this oven. But in less than three months it was trouble. As other reviewers have said, the oven will turn itself on. The plastic exterior will crack due to the heat from the range. And whirlpool has made customer satisfaction a priority despite the numerous complaints about this oven. My oven was ultimately replaced by my builder under the builders warranty guarantee.
Summary: Had this microwave for 3 years with very little usage within that period of time. The infamous F7 error code showed up and service rep replaced the inverter and still had a problem after inverter replacement. After a $400 repair bill, the inverter was only partial problem. The magnetron has to be replaced for another $200. Whirlpool use to be a great appliance to purchase but now I would not suggest buying another whirlpool appliance.
Summary: Trust the reviews. this microwave cannot handle the heat from the stovetop below. the touchpad stops working or worse starts acting up like a ghost is pressing buttons. to add insult to injury whirpool customer service is pathetic.
Summary: It's too bad that this microwave gets such poor reviews. I had it in my old house, and I'd really like to get another one for my new house. But even now I'm a bit hesitant. I see that a lot of people have problems, but luckily, I had none. I love the looks of the microwave, and I love the LCD touch controls. I also love the sensor cooking, especially with baked potatoes and corn on the cob. Perhaps my only complaint is that the exhaust fan is loud.
Summary: My experience is much better than most. We purchased this unit in September 2006, it is still working strong after seven years. We use it all the time as a microwave oven. Would not recommend it as a convection oven, it is very slow.
Summary: we got this microwave as part of an appliance package when we bought our newly constructed home. Within the first two years we had to have major repairs, the magnetron cracked. Now 2 years later, we come home from vacation and we are getting the F7 error code. Needs a new computer board. This is a piece of junk. We also have the matching whirlpool gold dishwasher, which I am really disappointed in as well. This is our dream home, but the appliances are a nightmare.
Summary: The control panel has a mind of it's own. It goes from one display to another without me doing anything. Whirlpool told me that the cost of the control panel is about half of what this unit costs. I would NOT recommend buying this microwave!!!
Summary: We have had the same problems as another reviewer. -->>> The Whole Right side of electrical panel is Paralyzed !!!--<<< -!!! Purchased this microwave at first I loved it !!!- This product is very poorly built. The bottom of the door of the unit is plastic and if you cook at all it will crack ->>> from the heat from the stove below the unit.!!!
