Please look online for consumer complaints, before you purchase
6 September 2014
Summary: It began overheating (outside extremely hot to the touch) after only 4 months. Fortunately, Sears was happy to replace it. I had contacted Sharp directly with a complaint concerning safety. Now the replacement is overheating to the point it turns itself off. The warranty on this one expired 4 months ago. Do your research about consumer complaints. I would NOT recommend this product to any one, because of SAFETY fire hazard.
Died after precisely 12 months to the day... a bit suspicious
16 July 2014
Summary: I bought this microwave on July 15 2013. Today is July 16 2014, and it just died - the tray is turning and the fan is going, but no microwaves and so no heating. Did they design the microwave unit to last precisely 12 months and no longer?
Summary: This microwave is a good basic unit. food cooks easily, and the microwave is not very noisy. I have owned this microwave for about a year now and have had it overheat on me when I tried out a microwave pressure cooker. Thankfully the unit turns itself off and works just fine after it has cooled. This is good for light home use, I wouldn't recommend it if you are the type of person who would require long cook times, due to the overheating issue.
Summary: Bought this oven in September 2013, it lasted to the end of May 2014, about 9 months then stopped r function, no longer it heat up anything placed in the oven I bought this SHARP microwave oven because of my previous good experience with this brand two of them each lasting over 10 years.
Summary: Bought this microwave based on previous sharp ovens we own. Was very disappointed in this model for the loud noise, compared with our other older model. Will return it and choose another brand. It cooks fine but the noise is very bothersome.
