Summary: Have always trusted Sharp each time I have purchased! The only thing with this particular model is that loud vibrating sound as you are using the appliance. Other than that, very solid purchase.
Summary: Sharp carousel has been around for years - I have had three models and this one is just as nice with one added feature - sensor reheat. Of course you may have to hit that a couple of times to get your food hot enough, but overall I enjoy cooking, defrosting and reheating with this microwave
Summary: I'm not a chef nor do I cook for a living. My family threw out the old microwave because it just stopped working, and we bought this one to replace. It's pretty big for a countertop. We don't do any serious business with this microwave. It's just a normal, everyday, simple use for a family-- heat up pizzas, left-over food, etc. And it has worked with us just fine past 6 months. I don't see it dying any time soon.
Summary: My first microwave was a Litton which we used for 29 years. When we moved from our last house we left it there and it was still working fine. I bought this Sharp 4 years ago and was happy with it until this week. It has a smell of burning electrical components when it is turned on. I am no longer happy with it. I looked at a Consumer Reports from 2008 and they rated Sharp and Kitchen Aid as the least reliable microwaves on the market.
Summary: I bought one of these and it lasted only 18 months. I liked the performance of the oven so much and I bought another one and it quit working is less than a year. I have lost confidence in Sharp Electronic products. The previous microwave ovens I have purchased from other manufacturers have lasted 8 to 10 years!
Summary: "I use a SHARP microwave to make Peanut Brittle .. it is one of my most requested signature treats. I got it from my OLD Sharp Microwave book. By the way OLD SHARP lasted 26 years .... can't beat that! Get some of their candy recipes just pay attention to the "power level" and you may have to adjust slightly for certain altitudes, but I have made divinity and everything in my SHARP. Some of the hardest consistencies to perfect. Easier than stovetop, but just as tasty!
