Summary: Don't confuse this microwave with the nearly-identical R-414HS from the early 2000's. I had a 414HS which still works, however I burned a bag of popcorn (didn't use the popcorn button!) and ruined the paint inside. Also, after TEN YEARS, there was some rust developing.
Summary: My original Sharp (manufactured in 2005) was the best microwave I have ever owned. I am old enough to have had the very first microwave on the market. Finally it started to have some issues. I was delighted when I found the new version on Amazon.
Summary: I love this microwave for its clean sleek looks and the functions it has. The buttons are on the inside which give it the super clean lines, and now I can't imagine having one with the buttons on the outside. It has several function buttons which are nice to use also.
Summary: We had a Sharp Platinum Series microwave that we loved but the turntable stopped working and we were getting uneven heating so I searched for another Platinum series but they are discontinued. I found this one and liked the design with the hidden controls and it is great.
Summary: I believe this microwave to be a fire hazard. A cooking menu was set in the device for 2.5 min. and left unattended. I returned after 20 min. and noted that the display was not working and that the ceramic dish containing the bacon that was being cooked was charred and in pieces.
