Great for Popcorn but Forget Playing Movies

Raymond M., Newegg
18 December 2010
  • Summary: Bonus feature: it cooks a mean bag of popcorn!
  • Pros: As many pundits have noted, this baby is smokin' and highly overclockable. I have my clock set 10 mins fast!!!But...
  • Cons: Let's talk about screen resolution. The problem is the screen on this unit is an actual screen, you know, like a patio screen. It has holes in it, so the resolution is horrible. Movies appear to be spinning blobs of color and light. It can make a 4 star movie look like a real turkey. DVD's do spa...

Overclocked Mcirowav

Theodore S., Newegg
16 November 2010
  • Summary: A eSATA port might come in handy. Expandable butter slot might aid in syncing popcorn settings. The video display card on this is standard so for you hard core video additcts, you might want to upgrade it to RADEON 9000SVL to make it a dual back lit LED from the standard LCD.
  • Pros: OK...so i read the reviews and I'm seeing 3.6GHz overclocking on this Microwave from the standard 2.45Ghz of non-ionizing radiation and it is like "say it aint so?", but my yes it is. So I went a different route to cool this bad boy..Why? because one never uses liquid nitrogen to over clock and w...
  • Cons: The Bios on this unit doesn't allow a lot more overclocking of the chip from 2.45Ghz to over 3.6Ghz as discussed previously, but it still heats up a hot pocket faster then a sniper kill in Black OPs. More Bios options to really tweak this bad boy would be nice.

Best Bang for you Buck

Scott W., Newegg
13 July 2008
  • Summary: I was going to buy this Microwave based upon all of the reviews here since everyone seems to be getting 3.2Ghz no problem on AIR. Since the economy is struggling, and I need to save every last bit I can for gas money and keeping my home out of foreclosure, I decided a drop in a 5x86 Overdrive chip...

You get what you pay for

Anonymous, Newegg
22 June 2008
  • Summary: Would be excellent if I could get an e6600 in there.
  • Pros: 800 Watts! Wow! 120 Volts only, DHHS, nice and cheap. HDCP compatible. Didn't expect HDMI on a microwave. OC's to 5.2ghz on liquid nitrogen. Popcorn option.
  • Cons: Broke shortly after the liquid nitrogen test. Only one DVI input. Wiring is a bit cluttered..uses a 939 socket (seriously).

Anonymous, Newegg
22 April 2008
  • Summary: Could use some VGA slots and compatibility with Linux. CD drive not included. Not recommended for a hardcore oc'er.
  • Pros: Does exactly what it is supposed to do.
  • Cons: No PCI express slots, radiation

Do no watercool

John P., Newegg
19 April 2008
  • Summary: I oc'd it to 3.6ghz with stock cooling, but it still took over a minute to nuke my delicious sodium packed noodles. I then tried submerging the microwave in mineral oil, but eating food soaked in repeatedly microwaved oil ending up giving me a tumor....so I turned to watercooling.
  • Pros: Was great while it lasted.
  • Cons: Label does not mention that it's not compatible with water cooling.
