Summary: I bought the microwave back in the Summer of 2013. For the most part the microwave cooks food really well. Plenty of power and options. But this Fall, we started having a problem with it. When we close the door to cook food, the microwave still thinks the door is open. The light is still on and it won't start cooking. Sometimes I have to re-open and close the door about a dozen times to get it to recognize that the door is closed.
Summary: Originally, I simply adored this microwave. I have had it for three years now, and it is no longer serviceable in any way. The sad part is, I don't even use the microwave that much...just reheating occasional leftovers or making hot water. So what happened? Let me be clear, all of the functions of the microwave still work, and the microwave functioned perfectly with the exception of the one fatal flaw.
The latch failed after a year. Don't buy. (edit: i fixed it temporarily with pliers, screwdriver and dowels)

Summary: It was an incredible microwave for a little over a year--and then the door latch failed. Same problem dozens of other reviewers are having. Need to slam the crap out of the door to get it to register as closed, otherwise the light stays on and the oven won't start. Don't buy unless you're happy with replacing every year. Edit: A few months later, the door no longer registered as closed, ever.
Summary: Stupid controls and shoddy construction. Microwaving was OK - maybe 3 out of 5 starts). About 14 months after purchase door would not close properly. Have a co-worker with the same issue as well. This means that the internal switch does not sense the door is closed and it will not activate the microwave.
