Summary: My husband got his first microwave, a Panasonic, as a gift in 1987. It is the microwave that had been in his bachelor pad, joined our household after we married and survived two kids into their teen years. It had the door repaired once and the magnetron replaced once, but otherwise it worked perfectly until last month when it finally gave up the ghost. After 27 years of owning a Panasonic, it was the only option for us. I couldn't be happier with our decision.
Summary: After less than six months of use by two older adults, this microwave has developed a control panel problem. The numeric key pad has developed bubbles in its covering and now has started to crack. This is totally unacceptable. It has not been abused and is not overly used. This clearly is a design and materials flaw which never should have been put on the market. Our last microwave was a Panasonic and it lasted several years.
Summary: I originally loved this white, powerful microwave although it has a large footprint. Very disappointed that it just died on me after about two years. It cuts out, have to unplug and about 50% it comes back to life. I want white, and powerful but unsure if I'll try Panasonic again. Lots of extras that complicate it and I don't use. The three different size popcorn bags didn't work for me.
Summary: Got an error H98 which the manual says is a problem with mcrowave generation system. Having to replace way too early. Engineers need to quit using low-contrast control panels. Black on grey is stupid. Can't see it without glasses.
Summary: I was the chief technician and a major repair center for many manufacturers of consumer electronics. Some of these reviews I think they're a little off to say the least. I like the one that said the microwave worked with the door open in the service department responsibly never heard of that. They probably haven't because there are failsafe switches in the doors that if any switch should fail to open or close will disable the entire unit by blowing the main power fuse.
Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Easy to use, Durable, Exceeded expectations, Convenient, inverter controls cooking power instead of time
Summary: i have had three - liked the size- but the first two, after a year, began to turn onwhen the door was opened. called customer service they had never heard of such a thing. bought a third one and after 11 months it no longer heats. customer service, jen who was nice, said i can take it to a warranty repair shop, 25 miles away, to have it fixed but have decided it is not worth it. if you want a microwave you'll really like for less than a year go for it.
Cons: Expensive, Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
