Summary: 98% of this micro is just painted, it's listed as stainless like your going to get this killer micro and instead you get paint with little strips on the front ,leaves a real bad taste in your mouth
Summary: These have an internal fuse that cannot be replaced without special tools. The fuse is known to sometimes fail without anything else being wrong. Also, the door latch has a plastic part inside that can break, making it impossible to open the door without taking the machine apart. Not built for the long term. Built to fail in 5 years.
Summary: I bought this microwave when my old one died after 18 years. After 6 months, it broke down. Panasonic sent me to a place to get it repaired for free as it was still under warranty. Here we are six months later, and it isn't working again. I am getting the same error messages as before. I wanted to be do the right thing, be fair and not return it the first time, so I went with the repair. Silly me. I will never buy a Panasonic product again.
Summary: So here's the long and short of it. I bought one of these about 2 months ago to replace an old dying POS I had for about 8 years. Instantly fell in love with this thing. The auto heat and reheat features are amazing and while many have complained they could not get used to the dial for setting time, I found it to be amazingly fun to use. It's not as easy as hitting one button but i'm not so lazy that an extra 3 - 4 seconds will ruin my day.
Summary: This microwave is powerful and looks great. Not too big or loud. We have it sitting on top of the refrigerator. I also like the nob -- quick way to add your time. Saves a ton of time in the kitchen. Great for cooking vegetables or even rice!
Summary: This microwave oven is a PITA to operate. It cooks ok but if you have it on a standard counter, you have to crouch to see the display and the buttons. The button are not lit so you have to squint to see what they are. The rotary dial is silly also in that once it is 'popped out' you may as well leave it like that. The power setting was awkward at first and takes awhile to become accustomed to.
Summary: Don't buy this piece of junk. Had it for exactly one year and now when the door closes the microwave doesn't sense it closed and won't work unless you shut it very hard after 5-7 tries. Super annoying and now we have to buy another one.
Summary: This micro is simply the state of the art for micro ovens. All the best features that are easy to learn, and a large cooking chamber make this a "best buy". My only caveat, it is a bit larger than many ovens on the market. If you are buying as a replacement and plan to install it in a micro oven chamber (as I did), be sure to measure the available space accurately; like I said, the oven is one the "larger" size due to the larger cooking chamber.
Summary: I have its little brother, the NN-SD697S (1.2 cu ft) CONs: ~~> The knob is a hassle. I thought I'd like setting cook time with a knob, but it's not as quick or easy as tapping a keypad. This microwave has no numeric keypad. Setting cook time is the main event. Why must Panasonic invent a way that triples the time and effort involved? You need to turn the knob a little, then a little more, then oops, back a little, almost there...OK good.
