Summary: The handle on my Maytag over-the-range microwave just snapped comopletely off. I've only had the product four years. Last week, the control panel on my four-year-old Maytag dishwasher broke. I can't imagine how much these two repairs are going to cost - so much for the lonely Maytag repairman. Sorry, Maytag, but I will never buy another product from you. What a shame.
Look, it works fine as a microwave. But AVOID MAYTAG... their poor designs will only cause you misery.

Summary: I'm developing a love-hate relationship with Maytag, and I'm running out of love... quickly. Their products look nice and work very well, at least for a while. But in the end, serious design flaws across all their product lines will cause you nothing but misery down the road. Do other manufacturers have such problems? Yes. Have I encountered costly repair issues with other brands like Frigidaire? Certainly.
Summary: I bought before kitchen cupboards were installed as I bought refrigerator and stove too . By time I first used microwave it was a year . Well magnetron was defective and wouldn't heat. When I called for customer service they basically told me I was Sol. Then I retread warranty and it guaranteed 10 years replacement on magnetron. What warranty doesn't state is that you have to have them install and a minimum of 110.00 will be charged.
Large Size, Works Well But Nothing Special--Possible Customer Support Issues

Summary: This is a large microwave oven. It has settings I have yet to try. Instead of a rotating plate it has a plate that moves left to right and front to back. Seems a bit strange but I am sure they have some reason for it. The previous microwave had a single touch feature which I liked. This one necessitates selecting some setting prior to setting a length of time. That isn't a serious flaw, it does have the add 30 second feature that I like.
Looks great. Don't bother trying to cook in it. Not even popcorn.

Summary: This microwave replaced a Panasonic Inverter microwave that I loved, but couldn't get parts for after it failed after 10 years. This is the worst microwave oven I have ever owned. Firstly, it has the worst cooking performance I've ever seen in a microwave. It won't even pop popcorn! I claims to be 1000 watts output, but I would be surprised if it was half that. It leaves 1/2 the popcorn unpopped even after 4 minutes.
Summary: Haven't had the appliance too long so I remain neutral in my rating however I believe the loud fan issue others are upset about may be due to improper installation. Before I installed mine, thanks to the negative reviews I plugged it in to see how loud it really was. It was as bad as some said. Then I noticed the blower, straight out of the package, came from the factory directing air back INTO the housing of the appliance.
Summary: The only good thing I can say is that it cooks well. I tried to change the filters today, and when I took the vent cover off it literally fell apart. The mounts for the vent cover had cracked and broken from the vibration of the fan. It's an extremely poor design and makes it impossible to change the filters without replacing the $70 plastic cover. Calling this microwave under engineered is an insult to all other under engineered appliances.
Summary: Bought this unit about a week ago and it was wired with a new dedicated circuit, new breaker, etc, all wires and lines are new and proper for needed voltage. The moment it was plugged in it tripped and we had it installed for about 48 hours and while it did work, it kept tripping the breaker while just sitting there, when opening the door, when punching in a number, or doing nothing at all.
