Summary: No O-T-R microwave/vent is really perfect. The microwave part has to deal with all the grease and steam coming up from the cooktop it is above. That wreaks havoc on the electronics of the microwave. Rather ironically, the OTR microwave vents went out in BOTH of my houses. My brother helped me replace the first one. It was a bear of a job that actually involved taking apart one of the Ikea kitchen cabinets.
Summary: Buy another model or brand. My first one was delivered DOA; completely non-functioning with no exterior damage to the box, etc. Amazon's exchange was excellent, and since i had already drilled the mounting holes, etc., I went with the same model. THIS time, it lasted 19 months before it failed again without warning. Of course the warranty had expired by now. Looks nice, good features, but LG's quality makes this one something you should avoid.
Summary: Looks great, works well - very powerful & very quiet. The only thing it's missing is the ability to press a single button to get 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 2 minutes - you have to press 1-0-0 and then start.
Summary: A nice looking microwave and it matches our stove. The vent fan is quiet and works well. When cooking, the microwave is quiet and fast and the turntable helps to cook food evenly. I love the soften, melt and reheat buttons; something my old microwave didn't have. The defrost button works well and doesn't cook food edges. I recommend this microwave.
Summary: Nice microwave, but false advertising. It says the microwave is 36 inches wide. It's not. It is 30 inches. I bought this microwave specifically to replace my shoddy broken down $800 discontinued 36" GE Profile microwave. Now i have gaps to the left and right of the microwave and my cabinets. The positive side of this microwave is that it is powerful and works very well.
