Don't ever buy anything by Whirlpool

Vivien "Clean & Smooth", Amazon
  • Summary: If I could give it NO stars I would. I agree with everything written. Fortunately our microwave died within the warranty period but now to deal with Whirlpool. That's another story. If they want to replace it I'll eat the money and get a different brand. Three service calls and still the parts were defective and replacements on back order. Two technicians experienced sparks and blown fuses. Had it finally been repaired I'd always have felt scared of a fire.

How this product got UL approval is beyond me. ...

John, Amazon
19 December 2014
  • Summary: How this product got UL approval is beyond me. It is a fire hazard!!! The default time setting for cooking in the convection oven mode is 4:00. Not four minutes as you would expect, but for four hours! So if you start it and expect it to shut off after four minutes or leave the room that it is in, you'll be alerted by your smoke alarm because eventually your microwave will be on fire and it will be ruined forever.

Can't hear over the noise!

Ash 789, Amazon
6 August 2014
  • Summary: Although this microwave looks great you won't want to ever turn it on. Every time, no matter what setting or cook method you use, the exhaust fan will run - and it's LOUD! We have a great-room open floor plan and I can no longer listen to the news when I'm cooking dinner. We have to crank the volume on the TV anytime we use the microwave. I had read the reviews about it being loud but did not realize it was every time the machine was turned on even to microwave.

Worst purchase

Karen Brown, Amazon
26 December 2013
  • Summary: I'm not one to write reviews, but feel compelled to do so with this microwave. The unit completely fills with condensation with everything I try cooking in it. The exhaust fan has not worked since day one, so when cooking on the stovetop, the steam has no place to go. Due to these issues, I thought the installation was done incorrectly. The installers came back and showed me that the blower was indeed facing the proper direction.

Kitchenaid Sucks

Pissed, Amazon
15 July 2013
  • Summary: Bought a Kitchenaid microwave hood combo used about 10 times in three months. It started turning itself on and beeping without anything in it. Which is a very dangerous thing to do. Then the damm thing quit all together. Called the dealer they said they would send out a repairman. Find out the whole damm control panel burned up. The damm thing is only three months old and now have to wait three weeks for the part.

Extreme Disappointment, waste of money

bushytail, Amazon
8 June 2013
  • Summary: Bought product at hhrgreg, special offer. I fell for the Sales Rep. recommendation in addition to some positive online reviews. Pros: Installation was easy, though I had to drill new holes into cabinet to accommodate power-cable passage (different than Kenmore) Cons: Thin and cheaply made Stainless steel cover(only looks good on frontal view, don't look on edges/sides, Vent: extremely loud and inefficient...don't bother using it.

Good on the inside, not on the outside. Terrible service.

waetherman, Amazon
29 March 2013
  • Summary: I've been using this microwave for more than a year now, and functionally I've been pretty happy with it. The fact that I can bake in it really makes it much easier for me to prepare large meals (i.e. for the holidays). The microwave function is fine too. As other reviewers have said the "vent" is pretty useless and very loud, and doesn't really filter, so it ends up spattering my upper cabinets with grease when I use it. So I don't use it.

Love it!

Dave, Amazon
19 March 2013
  • Summary: I do not know why anyone would say the instructions or template are inadequate. This unit was so easy to install, measure, mark the centerline, holes off the template, use a hole saw for the plug and you are almost done. Next, find the wall studs, mark, drill the wall anchor holes, insert the wall anchors and use at least one lag screw into a stud and you are almost done. Next, lift the unit (helps to have a second person), set unto the bracket hooks.

Very Low Quality!

Sam, Amazon
19 February 2013
  • Summary: We bought the full suite of Kitchenaid Pro Line applicances and genuinely regret it. The microwave is obviously very cheaply built and we're not expecting it to last very long. One obvious sign of their poor quality control is that the Kitchenaid emblem was put on cock-eyed. Looks silly ... For the money, you can do much better. This unit was very cheaply made with poor quality control but is priced quite a bit higher than competitive models.

Piece of Crap

BigDaddy, Amazon
26 January 2013
  • Summary: If I could have, I wouldn't have given this thing any stars! Do not buy this Microwave! The exhaust fan does not hardly draft anything and is a total load not working piece of crap! Other than the fan not working as an advertised hood, it is load but doesn't do the job! I hate this thing and it cost an arm and a leg!
