Summary: Bought a Kitchenaid microwave hood combo used about 10 times in three months. It started turning itself on and beeping without anything in it. Which is a very dangerous thing to do. Then the damm thing quit all together. Called the dealer they said they would send out a repairman. Find out the whole damm control panel burned up. The damm thing is only three months old and now have to wait three weeks for the part.
Summary: Bought product at hhrgreg, special offer. I fell for the Sales Rep. recommendation in addition to some positive online reviews. Pros: Installation was easy, though I had to drill new holes into cabinet to accommodate power-cable passage (different than Kenmore) Cons: Thin and cheaply made Stainless steel cover(only looks good on frontal view, don't look on edges/sides, Vent: extremely loud and inefficient...don't bother using it.
Summary: The easy to use keypad has just the right amount of information without being too busy. The unit is sleeak and easy to clean. The automatic settings work great and we really enjoy using the KitchenAid steaming basket that was included. This microwave also has the most options with two light and four fan settings. The one page 'cheat sheet' is also perfect for quick referrencing directions.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Clean, Easy To Install, Heats Evenly, Powerful, Simple Controls, Simple Display
Good on the inside, not on the outside. Terrible service.

Summary: I've been using this microwave for more than a year now, and functionally I've been pretty happy with it. The fact that I can bake in it really makes it much easier for me to prepare large meals (i.e. for the holidays). The microwave function is fine too. As other reviewers have said the "vent" is pretty useless and very loud, and doesn't really filter, so it ends up spattering my upper cabinets with grease when I use it. So I don't use it.
Summary: I do not know why anyone would say the instructions or template are inadequate. This unit was so easy to install, measure, mark the centerline, holes off the template, use a hole saw for the plug and you are almost done. Next, find the wall studs, mark, drill the wall anchor holes, insert the wall anchors and use at least one lag screw into a stud and you are almost done. Next, lift the unit (helps to have a second person), set unto the bracket hooks.
Summary: Was looking for a microhood to go with my GE Cafe Stove - this matched perfectly (the one that actually was paired with the stove was by GE yet it felt/looked cheap). I love the solid feel of the door when you open and close it. The interior of the microwave is metal - looks so much better than a white plastic interior.
Pros: Attractive Design, Door Feels Solid, Easy To Clean, Easy To Install, Heats Evenly
Summary: We bought the full suite of Kitchenaid Pro Line applicances and genuinely regret it. The microwave is obviously very cheaply built and we're not expecting it to last very long. One obvious sign of their poor quality control is that the Kitchenaid emblem was put on cock-eyed. Looks silly ... For the money, you can do much better. This unit was very cheaply made with poor quality control but is priced quite a bit higher than competitive models.
