Whirlpool F'd this one up!

stevew92, shopping.com
18 May 2011
  • Excerpt: We are on our second unit now. The first one died after 14 months when the wave tube guide started arching. The service tech told us not to use it anymore, or it could catch fire!  Whirlpool/KitchenAid said this was not a covered part since 12 months had passed and it was not included in the electronics (up to 5 year) warranty.  Good thing I had extended warranty, but bought policy for 4 years. Only needed one.
  • Pros: Usually runs for a few months, but with problems. 1 year warranty.
  • Cons: Whirlpool bought KitchenAid, made in China, no quality control.

A Real piece of "S"

  • Excerpt: After 2 years the display showed about half the characters and after 4 years the microwave completely died.  It went in the garbage and replaced by a cheap Emerson from Walmart.  A real BI-itch to install and to rip off the wall went it died.
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: What happened to KitchenAid quality?

  • Excerpt: Microwave worked for only 4 Months. Customer Service is awful at Whirlpool. Took 2 months of complaing to get a new Microwave. They were out 7 times to try and fix this oven. They keep doing the same thing. Not very knowlegable on there products. Consumer affairs does help but be aware they will change what they say. Never will buy another product from them. This product is not worth the price they charge.
  • Pros: Nice looking unit. many optional fetures.
  • Cons: No Customer service. Awful.

We think it is terrific!

  • Excerpt: We've had this appliance about two months now and been nothing but impressed. Imagine, even a roast done to perfection in a microwave! The quality is visible in every facet of this appliance and what makes it work particularly easily is the intuitive touch display. Seems to answer every question you have as you're programming it. I don't mind spending money for quality and this purchase, although fairly expensive, represents very good value.
  • Pros: Functionality, effectiveness, quality, look, ease of use
  • Cons: I guess I thought twice about its price before buying it.

Love This Microwave!

carly67, shopping.com
20 April 2008
  • Excerpt: We did our kitchen over and for our microwave we chose the 36" model. I liked that it has the most powerful ventilation system in an over the range microwave. It can handle the professional gas cooktop we have with ease. It is so spacious, looks great, very different and I get complements on the style all the time. It has a great touch screen that allows for instructions and one button push start for melting chocolate or popcorn with everything perfectly done.
  • Pros: attractive, spacious, works great, great fan/ventilation
  • Cons: none

do not stand behind their product

  • Excerpt: We bought this Micro Wave from a Kitchen Aid dealer on Dec. 5 2007 within 3 weeks it would not work at all. Called the dealer and He called his kitchen Aid Sales person and they would not take a return for a new one. They sent out a repair man and he could not fix it. He called back and wanted to take it to his shop to work on it. We called Kitchen Aid our selves and the said their policy is to repair not take it back.
  • Pros: No Pros the unit won't even turn on
  • Cons: Kitchen Aid customer service was nice on the phone but no help to the consumer
