Summary: I bought this microwave to match the oven. I do not do much cooking in it, more reheating. I am disappointed that the microwave gets warm when I use the burners on the stove. Maybe it needs more insulation.
Summary: Paid premium for this microwave, but the quality of build materials super cheap. Microwave installed 20" above the range and after 2 month the plastic handle covered by foil just pilled off make this microwave worth not more than $20. Yes it will be replaced by warranty no problem with the same foiled cheap plastic handle. I hope one day GE will review their product quality.
Summary: Love the cooking features of this microwave just not the design of the door handle. After one month the metal coating on the handle started to peel off due to the heat from the burner below. I called GE and the service man came and replaced the door. He said this has been an on-going problem and it will probably happen again. As long as I have a warranty I will keep replacing it. For such an expensive product it is very cheaply made.
Summary: The touch screen on our last microwave did not work, so we needed to purchase a new microwave that went with our other GE cafe appliances. While this microwave was very pricey, it is remarkable. I was unsure about the dial on the touch pad, but the time it allows you to put on it seems to be perfect for whatever you are doing. The microwave heats more evenly than any other microwave I have used.
Summary: I bought this is in August and I always wanted a combination convection/microwave. It did not come with a cookbook and I still haven't used the convection oven yet. It also does time cook in 15 second increments If I wanted 25 seconds I would not be able to put that in. I would have to do 30 seconds and take item out 5 seconds early. That means I would have to stay by the microwave to stop oven 5 seconds early. This can be a real pain.
Summary: The microwave does everything you expect it to do. The operation buttons are easy and intuitive to use. The major change I'd make would be to allow the user to set "Time Cook" to any number of seconds rather than having to choose a time in 15 second intervals, push the button, start the countdown then adjust the dial to the seconds desired.
Summary: Owned this same model in a house we built in 2000 and never had any issues. Installed this same model in the next house 14 years later. Still just as happy with it. Easy to use, love the convection oven feature. Was pretty simple to install. Easy to keep clean. Nothing bad to say about it. Only inconvenience is that you have to wait for the oven to cool down after using it in bake, etc mode before you can run the auto sense microwave mode.
