Summary: After our - 20 year old - GE microwave called it a day, we were very concerned we wouldn't find a perfect fit for our previous cut-out in our kitchen cabinets. This was the perfect solution. With this microwave and the available trim kit, it fit beautifully! We did have to install a new plywood base to raise it up a bit to - center - in the old space, but other than that, this size solved all our concerns. It is perfect! And we love this new microwave!
Summary: Bought this to replace the previous profile Microwave/Convection unit in my kitchen. I like the size, and the power of it. It works really well, and most importantly pops bags of popcorn perfectly. Wife is very happy with it as well. I just don't understand why these profile units are so expensive. If we weren't looking to fill the wall spot of the previous unit, and have it match the oven below, not sure we would have bought it.
Summary: No need to answer that question. First one I received, the inside panel cracked with normal usage. Took something close to an act of Congress (Oh, wait. They're shut down, too) to have it replaced less than 3 months after it was purchased. GE tried to claim it was *cosmetic* damage. Eventually, they did come through and send a new one. 20 months later, this new one just quit. Still counts down, light comes on inside, nothing else.
Summary: Purchased to replace another built in GE Profile microwave and to mathch the other GE Profile kitchen appliances. Not sure how well microwaves are evolving but this works well and the sensor cooking seems to get the popcorn and re-heating of refrigerated leftovers better than anythiing we have had in the past.
Summary: I just purchased another 1200 watt GE profile microwave oven. This makes 3 units since 2009. They do not last long as they are cheaply made. But when they work, they work very well. My most recent unit died after 18 months of use. Just over the warranty period. I suspect it was the magnetron (which has a 5 year parts warranty) but the GE repair system foreclosed any attempt to repair. First, only GE repair can do the job. This cost $96 for the diagnosis.
Summary: Bought this microwave as a replacement for GE model JE2160, its basically identical in size. Its has excellent functions and my wife likes the rounded rear corners as they are easy to clean. Its very large for a countertop but mine is installed in a cabinet on a GE designed installation kit. The reason I awarded 4 star and not 5 star is because it does not fit the old base, GE have moved the feet!!!
