Excerpt: Works great overall, I have it just above the oven with no problem. The self cleaning well, except for every so often I need to actually clean up a few things the self mechanism didn't get out. We've had it a long time but never had a problem with it. It's still working well.
A little over priced for what it brings to the table

Excerpt: We've had our unit for quite some time. While it's adequate, it's over priced for what it can and can't do. Unless there's some specific reason you want this model, I don't see why (now that we've used it a while) we paid over $200. It's not worth $200.
Excerpt: My husband and I decided to buy this microwave when we renovated our kitchen. We previously did not have an above range microwave and considered it a must for our new space. After about a month of researching our options, we decided to go for this one. We really like the GE name because of the longevity and useful life of current and past GE products we have owned. This microwave also has a removable shelf, which I like, so I can cook two things at once.
Excerpt: Just enough bells and whistles to keep you happy. Works great over the stove and heats evenly. Easy to clean interior. The exterior is pretty unremarkable but the function is great. Exhaust fan is pretty loud on it's high setting. Would definitely buy again.
Summary: We bought this unit in 2010 and just last week (2012) the magnetron failed (i.e. it won't heat food anymore). It only has a one year warranty and I had to wait 1.5 hours to speak with a GE customer service person who could only offer me a discounted parts and labor repair (about $120 after the discount) and could do nothing about the $100 service visit fee. So we will have to pay $240 just to fix the machine. Do not buy GE appliances. Bad product. Bad service.
