Summary: With a 1 year warranty this microwave lasted, of course, 13 months. Used to trust GE, but I'll be looking elsewhere for a new microwave and everything else for that matter. Problem is I read the bad reviews before I purchased it but figured it would at least last a couple of years, but instead just...
Summary: Microwave itself: Previous model lasted 12 years, so this was an obvious choice. Plus I didn't want to struggle with the mount or dimensions etc. Pros: vent fan - auto on; surface light has 2 intensities; comes with a steel grill for 2 level cooking; vent fan sounds louder.
Summary: The door wants to catch. When you push the numbers on the keyboard, they seem cheap. You have to push hard for them to work right. This is the second one of same microwave we've had. Purchased it so wouldn't have to remount hardware.
Summary: WE had a GE microwave oven burst into flames for no apparent reason. My wife was reheating cup of coffee when the fire occurred. She cut the power and the flame immediately stopped. Her quick thinking averted what could have been a nasty housefire.
Summary: Our Spacemaker over-the-range microwave oven was made in August 2012. It is now March 2014. The microwave died six months after the warranty expired. The repair bill costs more than the unit. I honestly cannot understand how GE can sell this.
Summary: We own this microwave in black. Installed in 2010, slow to cook for 3 years, and finally broke in 2013 - magnetron went out. Too costly to repair, so replaced with a Whirlpool unit (fingers crossed). 3 years for an appliance that requires install - WHAT A JOKE!
Summary: This microwave came with my apartment (mine is model JVM1540DM4WW, but it looks identical to this one), and it totally blew away my expectations of what a good microwave should be. It cooks quickly and evenly (everything takes about half as long as it did in my old microwave), the button options are...
